I'm sorry skaps but I'd never find couscous exciting. It's in my top 3 food hates along with cucumber and squid." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I was feeling hungry this morning so I made a plate of couscous (1 mug of couscous, two mugs of boiling water in a mixing bowl. Cover and leave to stand for 10 minutes then stir). I then poured over some Blue Dragon sweet chilli sauce (original). It was bloomin' delicious and so easy to prepare. I think it would also make an nice accompaniment to some sausages and fried mushrooms. Just thought I'd share my brilliant idea with all you goodly MSE folk
Those proportions made tons of couscous (enough for two people) so you might want to halve the quantities. I was just guessing how much to do and I kind of overestimated0 -
Yes, it is one of those great things that gets overlooked. Cheaper to get the unflavoured packs and avoid those afternoon telly cook sponsored packs.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I don't like those Ainsley Harriott ones, they taste strange to me. One bag of plain couscous goes a long way (I've found, he he).0

One of my favorite things to do with plain couscous is to add some chopped fruit and a fat free fruit yogurt - mix together for a tasty filling fat free pudding! When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0

I add a chopped red pepper and onion which I've fried in 'fry light', add that to the cous cous (or bulgar wheat), maybe a bit of soy sauce too but hadn't thought of sweet chilli sauce so thanks OP0

Hi chocsessential,
I've added your thread to the main one on couscous as it helps others to find the ideas together.
