Nationwide ISA

They won't be. Nationwide's call centre does nothing but toss back tit bits of information - mostly of the 'cut and paste' variety. If you ask them to (say) refund the interest on your current account because you disagree (pointing out where they have gone wrong) they'll just send a standard reply about when they charge you (etc) They won't answer a single one of your points and they won't refer the matter to someone who is empowered to act either. The call centre certainly won't escalate an email message from a customer saying 'I wish to complain' to a complaints handler - when that's the patently obvious thing to do. In fact, Nationwide doesn't even have a 'complaints department' - they have something totally opaque called 'Member Services'. (Even Abbey staff working within their co-called 'Customer Satisfaction' department refer to themselves as the 'complaints department'...)paparossco wrote: »After waiting eight weeks, two emails and several attempted phonecalls later I raised a formal complaint with NW via their internet banking email system. Oh my goodness - what has happened to the Nationwide! I have always found them to be pretty good and have never had these problems before.
The call centre seem to use a button whereby if they can't answer the question, they click it onto a message which just cuts you off. It is disgusting and I have sent a letter of complaint to them - who knows what will come of this, but I was so angry on Friday after speaking to the morons at the call centre, that I had to do something.
What a pity that they have damaged their reputation like this.0 -
must be dependent on branch to branch perhaps? myself, never had a problem with them, and been with them over 15 yrs. my only 'gripe' is that there are no local branch tel nos anymore (but they are not the only ones: try speaking to the idiots in Barclays:mad:BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Just think, we are all benefitting from the Nationwide not having to pay for the shareholder's bubbly:rotfl:undercoat11 wrote: »Oh my goodness - what has happened to the Nationwide! I have always found them to be pretty good and have never had these problems before.

Actually, I have thought this myself - how we are all supposed to have benefited from the fact that the Nationwide is still mutual and run for its members!!! I think I would rather have free shares or cash anyday (and a bit more efficiency).0

Has anyone noticed they no longer say "proud to be different" in their TV adverts?
I think they've taken a leaf out of Halifax's book and are using their own staff in their adverts...0 -
Alternatively why not go for a 1 yr 6.5% fix at Yorkshire Building Society? http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/savings/bestbuys/fixed-rates-isa.asp
Sorry to correct, but it's Julian Hodge that's fixed at 6.50%. YBS is 6.30%.0 -

Mr Beale C.O.E reported salary is now over 1 Million pounds a year. :eek:0 -
I've received my new ISA certificate today. It's backdated to 16th April and has taken around seven weeks. My OH's Nationwide ISA transfer was completed within around a month.0

My ISA transfer was completed yesterday (on assumes) as I have just received the passbook. Time take actually 12 April to 9 June (59 days) Got a nice letter apologising from the Assistant to Member Services (I raised this by email with the CEO, you see) offering £25 - even though there has been no loss of interest because they back dated to 16 May - when their request was acknowlwedged...I've received my new ISA certificate today.
