Great Cheap Internet Dating Site Hunt

I used several of these sites until I found my boyfriend thro match.com 3yrs ago, so I might be a bit out of date. I also know three other couples who met thro match. I found the men on there were genuine and serious about meeting and I was only a member for 2wks before we met up - shame in some ways cos I had some great nights out. Many free sites are not checked and I found some guys had displayed porno (sad) pix of themselves! Also in London there is contactsingles.co.uk, who run events every week, the girls who run it are very good and actually care about the members!0

I've just been sent info on a site called Pocado, which is like most, free to post your details on but then you have to pay to contact anyone!. I have noticed however that many of the members have hidden their e-mail address using dotcodot and uk etc. Clever huh?Chris :beer:0

i know a few great sites -
https://www.guardiansoulmates.co.uk
&
https://www.dating.telegraph.co.uk
they are both fab as you meet people who read the same paper as you !0 -
There is one I have joined simply because I was totally fed up with getting charged by other dating agencies or online dating sites and getting no replies or messages whatsoever from potential friends or new partners. With the website listed below I have so many more hits and messages from ladies, although I must admit that some may not be as genuine as others. But at least I have made a couple of friends this way.

Try it out, has worked for me so far, even if I am still a single Dad!! :-)

I know some people who've had great success in the guardian guide, soulmates. In fact, one couple who met through that have just asked my DH to be best man at their wedding!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Sorry to hear such a negative response, at it's peak GC had 70 members and you never knew who was going to turn up at the event... Personally I think you have try everything and anything. For the guys I cannot understand why they 1 do not join a social group - lots of women do and 2 why they don't learn salsa or ceroc - lots of women there as well!0

First post for me so if I muck this up, sorry. I was on the Match website and was offered a free 3 day trial, had to give my debit card details but there was a thread which told you how to cancel so that you were not charged and were given the free trial. Turns out they charged for a full six months and then you have to negotiate the money back, even though I cancelled as soon as I registered. I eventually got a partial refund, but beware, this is a con! It cost me £25
PS - I'm 40, and should know better but don't, looking for Mr.Clooney! Any takers? :doh:0 -
Welcome aboard, fling! I'm pretty new too but totally addicted as you can see by my post count.
I see your point about George Cloony!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
