I've received a message and been put on a favourite list on a well regarded dating site, Datingdirect. Only one problem, they seem to have binned all their cheap membership offers, so I'd have to pay £25 to read the message.

Thing is, I've just made £230 on a gambling loophole, so I could regard this as being for free. However, I'm not wanting to spend money for no reason.

Hmm, maybe that answers my own question? If I was that keen I'd do it without thinking.

Nah, I resent having to pay £25 to join to read one message and maybe send another.

I dunno. Online dating is crap really.
I'm off to bed, luckily I'm not allowing myself to make a decision whilst drunk.

i wouldnt personally pay that amount and i would be very skeptical if i were you! keep your money in your pocket and go to the pub and spend your £25 your more likely to get to know some nice real people in there and have a good evening in the process, good luck from a fellow gloucester dweller:D
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance! :p

    I wouldnt Tom.

TBH, its just not moneysaving is it ;)

ONline dating is crap, I do agree. You can spend 25 notes on opening the message to find its from some illiterate desperado and you will feel empty and shortchanged.

I had a email exchange with someone a few years back off internet dating. It was all a bit seedy for me. So I am biased.

I know youll find someone tom in the real world , you seem really lovely :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Thanks for the views! The thing that's bugging me is that I'm really content at the moment, got my own flat, enjoying being alive and I quite fancied going out on a few dates. The two women both look quite nice and I'm curious as to whether they'd be fun to know. £25 is what most people would spend by going out etc.

I'm pleased to see that you share my dislike of paying some faceless website profit maker big money for the pleasure. I suppose it's this part of the whole thing that I dislike - someone else making easy money of my situation.
spend your £25 your more likely to get to know some nice real people in there and have a good evening in the process,
I've not found pubs or clubs any good for meeting like minded people. Yet.

    what about speed dating?

Seems to be the 'in' thing for people who recognise pubs and clubs aren't for the seriously interested, more for the instant pick up types:p

Also- try going to the rugby internationals- a few of my friends and family met their now husbands there;) They were there to see the game, not to pick up a man, it just sort of happened, which is how many of the best things start- sounds like you're in a good place to start dating:beer: Best of Luck
