  • Been to Boots at Bluewater today. Mixed success:

    NC shower gel £1.99
    NC gwp bag 0.00

ACM machine was total pants. No model.me, no photo stuff, no TS. Tried my mom's card and she got same offers only £1 instead of 50p off the no17 eyeshadow which I thought was weird. Best thing I printed out was 100pts wyb Time Delay which I used against wipes currently reduced to £1.99.

I have got both PC vouchers for 600pts and £5 off Olay - I thought they were only for total effects which costs around £14.99 so didn't use them but have I got this wrong and actually they're valid on all Olay?

Rats! And I got charged for my Health & Beauty mag! Do you think CS will refund me?! Even though my AC was in slot it didn't give me points on my 2 pantene items for £4 (that both cost £3.99 each) and SA gave me the points manually. I handed over PC £2 off pantene voucher and didn't realise until afterwards that it should have been £2 total not £3.

Still, to make up for this I did manage to get the very last Glamour with lip gloss in whole of Bluewater I think. Neither Boots or WH Smiths had it and I got last one from newsagent.

    Torn about buying No7 mirror...
  • Thanks Jellybaby and Amelia's Mummy for the welcomes ..... and yes I was happy with my shop tho I think I messed up when it came to getting the No7 GWP, as I bought 2 x Suncream and 1 x Bath Soak, and I think the 2 x Suncream would have been enough. Never mind because the bath soak was for a pressie, I got 350 points for it, and it helped me to get another 250 points for a total spend (£25 I think).

One thing though ~ am I the only one who finds it REALLY difficult to work out the till receipts? I got the ModelMe products but can't work out what it did there!

I agree this is a very friendly helpful place and I hope I will find lots of bargains etc to post about!

This is what you need to get with your Olay total effects vouchers

It is £4.97 but to you free with 600points too

May be worth calling CS about the mag thing though and explain about the manual points

Ooh, I wondered about this but didn't have the guts to try it. There are other things like sponges etc for applying makeup, and the nail buffer sets, that are under £5...

That would be cool if there are freebies, but I have a feeling that not long after people started getting them they would disappear from the shelves - that's one deal we'd have to act fast on before they are put away!

And thanks all for the info on the speed dry polish, I may have to get some! :)

The model me one is odd on the receipt.

I got today Erin dry shampoo at £5.49
    hero.jpg
and Erin styling paste at £5.99

    hero.jpg
    So the total is £9.00

It then takes off the £5.49 for the cheapest item making my total £3.51

but it also shows on the receipt the reduction for the 2 for £9
    show something like £2.49 saving

It is difficult weighing up the pro's and con's of using this voucher or that, and whether to buy something purely for the points you may get. I keep trying to remind myself that a bargain is something I would normally really really want. Not that I listen to that voice when I enter Bootsland. :rotfl: As you say though, you got the 350 points back on the soak pressie and without it you wouldnt have spent enough would you? So totally justified. :D

As for model me, I have only done the Trevor Sorbie ACM deal so far. The model me one seems to work best if you have a voucher from the Parentlng club I think (someone please correct this if not) and mine havent arrived yet. Was your receipt confusing then? Probably a lot of fat zero's? eta Just realised my own mistake above, the PC voucher is good for when you are buying Trev Sorbie as you can get both for free, not Model me. How many virtual slaps should I get?!

I'd also be interested to know whether anyone has tried using discounted Med stuff to get the GWP (you mentioned this in your first post) Anyone brave enough to try? None of it is reduced in my store.

The TS one you can get shampoo and conditioner free by using ACM voucher and PC voucher ( voucher can be tempramental (sp) though)

The model me one you can use the ACM voucher and a voucher from the express newspaper from a few weeks ago and I think someone repoted that this actually gives you a credit so Boots owes you LOL

The normal pencil eyeliners are really hard to remove too! My eyeballs ached afterwards. Which can't be good. :D
