    Evening All

How are well all this evening. Just caught up on 20 pages of bootsing

Was away overnight with dh and ds to dunoon and naturally I had a little trip to boots :D For those of you who dont know Dunoon is in Argyll in the West of Scotland its just a very very small boots in there.

Didnt buy anything as they only had 3 items on sale shelf, cant even remember what they were now shocking memory I have. I forgot to take some of my no7 vouchers with me  . Dont have much money to spend this week.

Sorry I know its not very interesting especially as I didnt even buy anything but I thought id post anyway.

Just been yabbering to tin-tin and twisted the conversation to boots lol

He said something that makes a lot of things make sense...

Time Delay, Botanics, No7, Med, NC, 17, Expert are 'loss leaders' and are expected to loose 30% of profit each year. Ie: If stock value is 1 million, it os only expected to sell for 700k

Apparently marketing do things like this recent £5 off no7 voucher expecting £1.25 purchases as it encourages brand loyalty and therefore means items within the range like foundation, which has a huge profit margin, are therefore bought at a later date etc. They also know full well that web based vouchers will be 'shared and abused' but that is the result they want, which is why we will see more of those types of vouchers in the future(depending on figures this monday though!).

He also said that it was fully expected that the time delay vouchers would be used on wipes/hand cream so people got it for free, head office however do not let the staff know that that is the intention.

So in a nutshell, they know what we are doing in regard to things like gwp at the moment with £5 pc and bogof on suncare bargains...but they love it as it keeps us loyal and keeps us away from competitors.

He said that as boots has now been taken over, some policies may be cracked down on, but it is looking on the whole at the moment, that they are keen to carry on in this way...yay!

Sorry...bit boring I know, but know some of you wonder if HO are daft or clever, turns out they are not daft!

Not boring at all. I love hearing about loss leaders (have read a bit about supermarket loss leaders) - I think it's a really clever idea!

And now I know it's how I got addicted to No7!

Does anyone have a little pic of the NC gwp as I couldn't spot any today?

    Many thanks!

    ;)
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

Does anyone know if, for those of us without a £5 PC voucher to hand, we could try the No7 suncare glitch with the e-mail voucher?

Will only come off of cosmetics, but if your sunncare does not meet the amount, then of course you can add cosmetics to the transaction and use

    IE: Other day I did
    2 x aftersun bogof = £18.00(£9)
    nail nolish = £6.25

    Used pc and
    used email voucher
used 200 pts suncare from mag

So £5.25 and 200+points plus gwp

They are normally £1.49 each but on offer 3 for £3 in store (even if no signs up) but the voucher takes off £1.47 which would be the amount to make them £3 for 3 if they were full price IYSWIM so you pay £1.53 instead of £4.47 for 3.

Goodness that was long winded :o Taxi............

Am playing catch up so I'll post this first.

If anyone lives/works near Chiswick they have reduced their No 7 lipglosses to £2.30 (popsicle, the white one) and £3 (all the other colours). There's no SEL, they've been priced with clearance stickers.

They also have reduced botanics stuff on the normal shelves (mostly facial stuff, toners I think) Didn't have chance to have a proper look as I was in a rush.

No reduced S&G but they did have some reduced pretty polly tights, £1.50, Balm, Balm, £1.50, Philips replacement shaving heads and some other stuff I can't remember.
