CSA phasing question

I have 2 girls from 2 different mothers, now both cases have been moved to the new system.

But they have calculated that I owe my eldest daughters mother more than my youngest, this in itself causes me grief at best of times with my ex's

the difference is nearly double for my oldest than my youngest

now this is where im confused my payments have been so eratic for over 15 months, but every time i contact the csa they just come out with its phasing

but surely phasing only changes £5 per year?

my payments change from £400 one month then can go up to £758, they dont make sense

ive written a complaint to the review team but when ive spoken to her on the phone she was as useful as a chocolate ashtry

also i have arrears, but had these set up at paying of £75 per month, then all of a sudden they change this to £305 per month, the reason ive arrears is that my ex said i wasnt paying anything to her when i was, my fault as i took her at face value and handed over cash in hand, i learnt now!!

but i questioned why they have put my arrears up without informing me and all i get is we can collect within 2 years, this is after ive had a face to face visit and arrears already agreed

i now have them set at £150 per month, this is still leaving me with serious financial difficulty

this has now meant my payments get taken from my wages, but ive had numerous different schedule collection forms and not one has the same amount to be collected, so god knows how they work this out

im losing patience and finding it difficult to survive from day to day knowing my csa payments are more than my mortgage and can jump up by £300 per month

i now have somene from the review team coming to visit me to explain things

can anyone help me in this situation

I would contact your local MP in this case as its ridiculous that you have agreed to pay arrears and they are taking what they want.

Your MP will/should be able to get some movement on your case but in the meantime ensure all correspondance with the agency is written and accept no phone calls. When you have everything in writing it is easier to fight your corner and you have proof of everything that has been said/stated.

had a visit from one of their case review team members on thursday there, appeared to go well he said that he would look into things but he says it was common for the computer to put payments out after phasing, a totally ridiculous answer i think

That sounds completely crazy - scan them all and keep them and send them to your MP.

As for the difference you are paying between the two mothers - do you have one child overnight or more than the other one?

So one Mum is claiming you never see her child at all.. whilst the other one is claiming that you do?

no i see both my girls every 2nd weekend, the reason im paying more for my eldest is because of phasing over 5 years, the guy said phasing sends the computer haywire and it cant calculate properly

Good god, you must have a heart attack opening your payslip wondering what they have taken!!!!

Although it seems to have levelled in the past few months that's no good - how the hell are you meant to budget if you have no idea what is coming out?!!!!

The reason they have given for the change in payments in wholly unacceptable - personally if it was me I couldn't give a stuff about their computer. If it can't cope with the phasing then it should be manual payments. I agree with Dippychick - take all your bumpf to your MP and get this ruddy shambles sorted.

    Good luck :)

im waiting to see if the guy who visited me replies within the 2 week period as he promised he would and what his findings are

im dreading getting my new collection schedule, but the guy said to me that to watch out when the phasing amount changes in january next year, coz it might put the computer out again!!!

Is all that coming out taking you below the Government guidelines on how much you need each month/week to live?

Fu*k the computer, that doesn't need to eat or pay bills!

Email your local MP - that is shocking. You can find his email address online .. do a Google search.

Good luck, NRP's have killed themselves for paying out far less than what you have been paying
