I called their helpline straight away, and the guy on the end of the 'phone reassured me that I hadn't in fact been upgraded.. I must have just been sent the information "by mistake"..
I'd ring their helpline up again, and ask them to confirm which account you have without first mentioning you're expecting it to be the 6% classic plus.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Just upgraded from 4% Classic Plus to 6% Classic Plus by phone. Very easy procedure. Well done Lloyds on this one. Rang 0800 015 0162, didnt have to hold very long. Lady knew what to do and asked a few security questions. She emphasised £1k has to go through account monthly, and 6% interest rate only applies up to £2.5k balance for a year. Also offered me a Silver account upgrade which I declined.
Will have to check in my branch that new 6% rate has definately been applied.
Just a thought, but you should always check a quoted phone number in these posts, as you could end up phoning a fake number and be giving away your personal details to a scammer!0 -
(Interest paid yesterday) I've just checked mine and it hasn't gone up from 3.92 gross[4% AER] to 5.84 [6%] for the month - all paid at the lower rate. I have phoned the 0800 number and they have now 'refreshed' this for me (for July!). It seems the cashier in-branch issued the request wrongly as they do have a record of it.......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

How do you actually know what rate is applied? It doesn't say on my statement (online)“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I applied for mine in branch and they changed the codes there and then - spoke to them again a couple of weeks later and they confirmed that it had been upgraded and said i wouldnt get letter of confirmation as was done in branch - if you applied in branch would suggest calling them up if not give them a call on the free number and ask them to confirm - nothing on my statement either

I thought it might be! My balance changes too frequently for me to be able to calculate it accurately. But, having said that, it is pretty consistent month on month and this month's interest is higher than average, about 50% higher actually, so I shall assume the rate has increased to 6%“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
To be honest, I am still not 100% convinced that this is all it takes to upgrade the rate to 6%, as it took the advisor 3 goes before it got accepted by the system. That's why I would prefer to have a written confirmation in the post saying that this has been done.
In the meantime, I will wait until the next interest credit on 1 July and do a full calculation check with a spreadsheet to verify what rate has been applied.
I got the interest credit in my account and the amount does agree to my calculation from a spreadsheet using 5.84% gross less 20% tax from the date of change and 3.93% gross less 20% tax beforehand - in fact it's over 20p more than what I've got. So I can now say for sure that the advisor has indeed upgraded the rate to 6% AER for me by changing the product code to 341, subtype 44 and tariff 1 using the PBS system.0 -

My interest was a bit higher this month, so I assume I have been upgraded.
I've still not received a letter though, and doubt I'll get one now. Anybody else in that situation ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
