  • Another use for silicone bakeware.. if you have the individual muffin cups (ie not all stuck together as a 'tray') theyre great for lunchboxes, fill with things like grapes, nuts, etc, keeps them together instead of mixing in with your sandwich filling :D

    Hi all,

I have a silicone muffin tray which I would like to make yorkshire puds in. Has anyone done this and does it work - do you have to put fat into it??

I have never tried with silicone myself. It is essential to have the oil and I would imagine that the temperature may get high enough to melt the silicone.

Hopefully somebody who has tried it will be along.

I always use silicone to cook my yorkshires and use some spray oil only come out really easy. I also freeze yorkshire pudding mix in them bag them up in the freezer and then pop them back in frozen and then pop them in the oven to cook.

I made toad in the hole in a silicon tray last week and it was great - really crispy. I have to say I was a bit doubtful about it when I put it in the oven, but it came out great.

:rotfl:Took me 2 months to use the first one I bought. I have used them for the yorkshires, came out fine.
One day I might be more organised...........
