    I've been Money Tipped!
I got some out of the local pound shop and they are great, two muffin trays and I just grease them with some rapeseed oil and have had no problems at all, cakes turned out fine, not wastage, no sticking.

  • I have the Jamie Oliver silicon muffin tray thingy, (bought with wedding vouchers!) and have found it to be excellent! There were quite a few in the shop though that had splits in the silicon, which concerned me... Also they were fab for freezing food when weaning my wee one, as they were the right size, and popped out easily, so mine has been subject to frezzing and cooking and I love it!!:j

I have cheap lidl ones and they never stick unless I try and take the cake out while it is still warm, as long as it has cooled down completely they turn out well. Was yours cool when you turned it out? Oh and I don't butter the insides of the trays.
  • Love my silicon ones and have got rid of the metal ones, never had anything stick in them.

Mine were Tesco ones, I didnt grease, I didnt think you had to. Im going to give them another go, because I think perhaps my mistake was getting the sponges out when they were still a bit warm.. will let you know how I get on.

I got this and a brownie tray last year for my wedding present, they are fantastic.

Never had a problem with them, but my hubby, who thinks he is Jamie Oliver sometimes, thought he would stab the brownie through the middle with a very sharp knife to see if it was ready, needless to say he went right through the bottom!

But miraculously, probably because of the nature of the material, it still works perfectly.;)

    Would definitely recommend them.

I have just brought some in Lidl I have the mini muffin individual ones (6 for £2.99) they work well (I did grease them - it said to on first use) and looked very pretty too. I have brought a 23cm one as well for the same price so will see how that goes.

  • I bought some Tupperware ones and haven't used them yet as I am without oven, however the lady said not to put them in the dishwasher as for some this reason it affected their use even though it said they were dishwasherproof - can't remember why though, think it left some kind of residue.
