That’s several of you who've picked up the real issue here - decking……

So PasturesNew, are you one of those FTPers (FlogToPavers)? Leaving the "sinking ship" with all the other rattus norvegicus? Or maybe it’s just jealousy because you’ve only got turf, actually ..no, I bet there’s just mud and two dandelions, and your pop-up-tent. Maybe if you got a third job you too could have climbed aboard at the right time, instead of whining about your lot. How dare you come on here questioning & having a go at my decision - …..I’m not one of those jonny-come-lately BTLDers (Buy To Lay Deckers) you know, and what’s more I provide a roof over the heads of all manner of critters - yes, including rats - who should be grateful. I’m proud of my portfolio of shiny brass screws and countersunk holes. I took risks, me, and I deserve to do well…. what is your problem?

To be swiftly followed by distant cries of

“D-e-c-k-i-n-g ?????? - you sheeple………you must be utterly mad to even contemplate getting into decking in the current market … ever read the Finance Pages in Lumberjack Weekly? "

    and then…

"See that first post just above - was I rude…no. Was I in anyway personal….no and then SHE comes in and tells me I’m a sheeple. That’s just so offensive. (I know I could add her and that other one - wotsisface- Shortsleep? to my ignore list but no, where’s the fun in that……….) There’s a PRINCIPLE here you know….and I’m not the only one who sees it….people like that hiding behind their keyboards, making judgements - I bet they've never done a day's real work....they need to be told"

    ;);)

(Ps Cheers for the comment Snooze - have I blown it now?)
I just wish I was clever enough to answer this with a witty response. Unfortunately I am not skilled in that type of writing :(

I hope some other witty writer can pick up the mantle and defend the pop-up tent.

Let's be sensible here and return to the subject of decking..

I predict that my house is now worth circa £35k but don't get down about that, cos I know my decking is holding up at circa £250k!!!!

God those lads at B+Q sitting on a goldmine.

Of course even decking has to crash..

Can we have a link to the cheesecake? We might be able to find a better/bigger/nicer/creamier one.

We might be able to offer tips for toppings that treat the tastebuds.

...or white vinegar and a little sprinkling of bicarb?

Have you noticed the caption when you hold the mouse over this smilie? Very overused on the OS board, I'd be scared to get their input to a dinner party...

" Hun! It's the second semi in the close, with the pampus grass outside :grouphug: , don't worry about the German Sheppard:happyhear he's a softy:happylove .... don't forget your car keys....:kisses: "

Which is why sales fell by 8% when they compared May 2008 figures for May 2007 figures.

Decking is SOOOOOOO DIY !!!!!! from the TV.

The real money's already moved on ... into cheesecakes I think.

Buy cheesecake futures now. Ditch those DIY chain shares.

Donate the decking to a homeless family now.

Your cheesecake is a dump... the toppings too red, you need to make it more neutral....

False modesty there PN - your writing is very witty.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I suppose it depends on the type of 'dinner party' you are holding, barnaby!

*think I should add an edit here to say that I don't hold, or go to, that kind of dinner party myself:D
