Carolt, how dare you turn this in to a bullying issue

Probably because she's being bullied by you and a few others?

So far, you have personally attacked her at least twice in this thread, she has personally attacked no-one.
On numerous occasions i have read posts from you that have been abusive and belittling.

Come on then, let's see them. Links please.
I'm going to leave this now and ignore your future posts.

:rotfl: How many times have you said that, I wonder?

I think the problem is there is no easy way to tell people they have made a mistake buying something that is over priced. Nobody likes to hear that they are going to lose money, but a fact that the majority have decided to forget is that house prices go down as well as up!

People thought it was great when the prices started to rocket up as they thought they were in the money, so started to spend money which in reality they did not have. You can't blame people for being smug just because they decided to act prudent over the last few years. You also can't blame them for having no sympathy or wanting the government to bail people/companies out when it will negatively affect them.

Why should the government bail companies/people out if they have been stupid when it's the innocent that will suffer? 3under3 was spot on imo, you reap what you sow imo...

GRRRR!!! It's that damn arrogance, I think house prices are too high, I hope they will fall - I expect them to fall. I haven't "forgot" - I *DO* understand however I assessed the overpricedness, the effects on our lives of private rental AST contracts and our own personal finances and situation and bought regardless.... It's not because I don't understand but because I'm in a situation where I could make the choice. I don't need you to explain why I've made a "mistake".

People don't post on the housewife forum saying "How do I make a chocolate cheesecake for a dinner party on saturday?" and get replies like:

    - You shouldn't make cheesecake it's unhealthy, look at these obesity figures
    - You should make angel delight that's much cheaper
    - Are you to stupid to realise that you can't live on just cheesecake
    - Wait 3 months because Iceland will be doing a special offer on cheesecakes, put the dinner party on hold?
    - That cheesecake won't be a resellable asset once you've eaten it.

It's the sheer arrogance that people do not appreciate that a need for tenure and a need for housing exists regardless of the wider economic picture and that regardless of the average economic picture some will still be in a position to get on with things. Is a rich guy in a dessert making a mistake to pay a hundred pounds for the last crate of water in town?

'housewife forum'? Would that be the OS board then? If so, don't tell 'em you call it that!

    Love the above, BTW :D

I dislike decking. It's slippery when wet (cue for a song there) ... and a rat haven.
That’s several of you who've picked up the real issue here - decking……

So PasturesNew, are you one of those FTPers (FlogToPavers)? Leaving the "sinking ship" with all the other rattus norvegicus? Or maybe it’s just jealousy because you’ve only got turf, actually ..no, I bet there’s just mud and two dandelions, and your pop-up-tent. Maybe if you got a third job you too could have climbed aboard at the right time, instead of whining about your lot. How dare you come on here questioning & having a go at my decision - …..I’m not one of those jonny-come-lately BTLDers (Buy To Lay Deckers) you know, and what’s more I provide a roof over the heads of all manner of critters - yes, including rats - who should be grateful. I’m proud of my portfolio of shiny brass screws and countersunk holes. I took risks, me, and I deserve to do well…. what is your problem?

To be swiftly followed by distant cries of

“D-e-c-k-i-n-g ?????? - you sheeple………you must be utterly mad to even contemplate getting into decking in the current market … ever read the Finance Pages in Lumberjack Weekly? "

    and then…

"See that first post just above - was I rude…no. Was I in anyway personal….no and then SHE comes in and tells me I’m a sheeple. That’s just so offensive. (I know I could add her and that other one - wotsisface- Shortsleep? to my ignore list but no, where’s the fun in that……….) There’s a PRINCIPLE here you know….and I’m not the only one who sees it….people like that hiding behind their keyboards, making judgements - I bet they've never done a day's real work....they need to be told"

    ;);)

(Ps Cheers for the comment Snooze - have I blown it now?)

    Q) Is a rich guy in a dessert making a mistake to pay a hundred pounds for the last crate of water in town?

    A) Not at all as long as he does not start complaining that he can not get £110 or more for the same crate of water after using the water.

I am not part of the HPC camp but prices are re-adjusting and people have to deal with this. I bought a propert last year that I would get less for today but I bought it for severel reasons but turning a quick profit was not one of them. In 20 years i will get what i paid for it or possible more. As you said its a life choice just don't expect to make money for doing nothing as the "Become a property millionaire in 3 years" scams sugested.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:
But if they did, the odds are the response would be

"aaawwwwww, sorry to hear you don't like cheesecake, hun :kisses3: I'll PM you with my Auntie Nellie's recipe -might just change your view ":j:j

    Rather than:

"Its people like you with your aversion to fatty foods - do you think I'm interested?
You stick with your low class instant puddings. We thought long and hard before deciding on a cheesecake, and you've got no right to comment on my choice of dessert unless you agree with me and can give me a virtual backslap for getting it right in the first place. I'm insecure and easily upset and I just don't want to hear it. okay? You anti pudding fundamentalist."

Sorry guys but the antagonism is there on both sides, and this thread has concentrated on "demonising" one person, possibly because that person is a woman so some of the guys' egos are suffering? Maybe Neverdespairgirl was right - touch of misogyny there?

or - "If you don't like regular cheesecake :blushing: - how about adding :happyhearsome stardrops for a citrony zest? :kisses: :heartpuls"
