People have given you sound advice. If you are that desperate for money then sign up to agencies whilst you are looking for your 'long term career'.
Instead of thinking what benefits you cannot get, think about what jobs you can. Years ago I used to temp as it paid well and one job ended up leading to my career which spanned 8 years and only ended when I left to have my baby. I now have a completely different career - gotta go with the flow my friend.
