No problem, that's the thing, it isn't gambling at all, but I would not recommend it to anyone that is not super confident in how to do it. If you've got a bored few hours feel free to have a look and ask questions if you want, they are a friendly bunch.

Just a note on the Contributions issue, even if you had paid sufficient NI Contributions, this would only have covered you for the first six months of your claim. After that, you would have moved on to income based JSA, which is based on your househole income. Sorry x

Can you give us an idea of your employment history over the past two/ three years, detailing dates of employment and amount of hours work etc?

Also, what area do you live in (if you want to tell us!)? Have you had any feedback from applications? x

Hi again, Unfortuantely I had no grounds to appeal as its standard procedure... However I had one of their workers suggest that I didn't declare that I had a partner on my forms  they told me that I could redo all the forms and they would turn a blind eye  I opted not to do it of course :)

Sorry its not much help :o

Just a thought but have you considered agency work?

It sounds like you were declined for cont based JSA (I'm assuming you did not receive anything for the first six months of your claim) as you were assessed on two of the three benefit years out of 2004, 2005, and 2006.

It may be possible that if you had a break in your claim, and you were then reassessed on the 2007 and 2006 years, that you would be eligible for cont based JSA. However, this would require a break of at least thirteen weeks (I think - someone correct me if I'm wrong!?). If you did want to do this, you would need to double check that you would actually qualify after the period.

    A good suggestion.
I registered with an agency 7 years ago and got placed on a temp project that led to me being taken on permanently.
And it was again an agency this time that found me my current position.
They are good if you need an extra bit of help to find a job.
