Mebbe its a sign to ease up a bit vic, give your body and nice break for a week and then see where you're at.

Regarding Fern B; I can't say I judge her for it,. The gastric band makes losing the weight initially easier but at the end of the day you still have to address the mental stuff and eat the right foods otherwise it just doesn't work.

Keeping it secret was a personal choice and one I don't blame her for.She hasn't promoted it as a quick fix and everyones jumped to condemn her for it now.

    Well done Brighton Belle!

You're almost there - I'm so jealous! LOL!
Thanks plg. I actually hit target in January and I'v been on the 'learning how to maintain' journey since. This is the first time I've put on weight for 4 consecutive weeks so I need to prove to myself that I can get that off again - it isn't just going to go up and up. This isn't lack of self belief -as longer term peeps on here know I was very ill at xmas & new yr, and I actually reached target and beyond because my jaw was seized shut with acute onset arthritis. So now I need to find if I can get back to my target the conventional way:rotfl: . I had no problem putting back on some of the weight as I wasn't eating enough for 2 months, so to me it was healthy and natural to put some back as I did Mar/April. I'm now looking for my natural balance and hoping that that is the 'target' I'd originally hoped for which is now 3lbs away.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Hi everyone,

I'm back! Tried to catch up with your posts, but just too many of them! Had a hectic week visiting. Still sore after falling off the horse, but I'll be back on my bike in a few days I'm sure. Having a very wobbly time with the diet at the moment. Discovered that combining low carb with visiting, is going to take advanced warning and planning, neither of which I did , and subsequently I've been really quite bad. Then started antibiotics, which have been making me a little queasy. Not much, but enough to put me off eating eggs, meat etc, so instead, I've been eating crackerbreads, porridge and toast when I can. Hmm not really low carb. Should have finished tablets on Thursday, so new start on Friday. Daren't get on the scales just yet though!! Hair still not done, so will wait till I'm back below 13 st 7.

    Well Done Loosers!!

    Hiya fredsnail,
If you like 'picking' at food in the office, how about bringing in some carrot sticks? I sometime nip out and grab a couple with a cup of tea & it keeps me going until my lunch. Bananas are good too, quick to scoff with a cuppa.

Things I usually take into work are...salads with cous-cous or tuna, bowl of musli or rivita with tuna. Do you have a microwave at work? I sometimes take in a jacket potato & beans or tuna, or a tin of soup.
We also have a toaster at work, so I sometimes have beans on toast.

I also have 2 or 3 pieces of fruit too.

    HTH

Sadly no micro or toaster or fridge.

I've got some fruit on top of my desk so I see them to eat them if I'm fancying something, and some frusli bars - limited to one a day - I have it in the morning so I last till lunch then :j

Mind you it's also helping at the moment that I've a stinking cold and not much appitite :rotfl:

Have found some hills to start climbing in town at lunchtime - might be easier on the knees :o.

Thanks for the welcome everyone and congrats to the losers - hopefully I'll be joining you very soon.

If you explain you're diabetic will they not replace it with a pud that's the same value? Maybe a nice fruit salad.

Missyg - thanks for the encouragement. I do hope that it will be a water gain, but I really don't think so.. Never mind. I'm following the points plan this week as we're a bit skint before payday and it gives me more choice and a bit more leeway.

Welcome:D cheese cat, fredsnail and Louise 1981 - you've done one of the most difficult things in joining this thread to get the support, now please remember to USE US! We're all here to give mutual support/advice and encouragement to help us stay on track.

    pinklipgloss - a dress size down? :j :j That's fantastic:T I bet you feel great!

starlight -I've read your story before on minimins, but I'm glad you shared it here too. I understand what you mean about the VLCD - they seem so tempting but I don't think I could even stick to one for a day!

raphael - I too suffer from the squidgy thigh problem and even did when I wasn't as heavy as I am now - so I'm the same, using the excuse of not being a girlie girl to wear trousers & tops instead of lovely dresses and skirts. I have to admit, I have a beautiful black & white skirt I bought for a wedding 2 years ago that I'd love to get back into.

victory - I'm sorry your bootcamp didn't work for you, it must have been a terrible disappointment, but I'm sure brightonbelle will correct me - aren't you still WAYYY under your target? Why are you punishing yourself for a little fluctuation ? I think someone else (sorry, can't remember who) was advising you to take a gentler approach this time rather than bootcamp to see if it makes a difference - look at missyg for example, when she ups the exercise and cuts the calories, her body becomes very stubborn and refuses to part with the poundage, perhaps your body is becoming resistant to the bootcamp method now? Hope this week goes better for you and you enjoy your meal out.

brighton belle - I'm glad to see you've reported a well deserved loss. I'm glad you found a way that works for you. Well done!:T

Day one back on plan for me again today and it's going well, I'm hitting the hardest part of the night and still have 6 points left to eat, so think I'm doing pretty well.:j Even went out for a 15 minute walk at lunchtime but boy I'm so unfit! I just need to do that 2x daily to get my 30 mins exercise in...
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
