Diddnt work for me, picked the mag, downloaded the software and when i try to login it says no account found. Yet i have an account with WHSmiths

EDIT: anyone actually been able to download and read the mag?

EDIT2: Received login info 20 mins later, good stuff :)
  • As well as the magazine offers thread on here, there are links to lots of '3 for £1 with no commitment ' and similar offers on http://www.besthighstreet.com/magazines.html.

    Cheers! Excellent find!
  • Another brain dead company with a proprietary DRM system. When will they learn that people don't want to have to install yet another piece of software of questionable quality just to read a magazine. Some people might download it for a free magazine but people are not going to start buying magazines this way.

Oh and did anyone tell WH Smith that not everybody uses windows ?

Pathetic attempt by a company that has clearly lost the plot in todays world.
  • Well I think it's a great find!

Nice one TheAlex, thanks very much! ;-)

Downloaded the software, attempted to download the magazine and then got asked for credit card details.

    Which typifies WHS's p*sspoor approach to e-sales.

I downloaded the software and when I saw how big my selected magazine was, decided not to bother and uninstalled the software. It's managed to mess up my internet Favourites setting and created all kinds of new folders. Strongly recommend not installing this software. Very amateur stuff.

In fact, I've just checked and it's DELETED the entire contents of my Favorites folder. Absolute rubbish. Fortunately I have a back up.
  • Thanks, registered then found out not compatible with macs. Oh well. never mind.
