Well have today received a call from Natwest telling me that unless I pay some money they are issuing a default notice. Told them that was the least of my worries and that perplexed them slightly.
Sort of laughable really as the od is still set up and I'm only £14 over that! The 1st of many I presume until we've moved and then saved again for bankrupcy!0 -
just a quick post for everybody currently or going bankrupt that are looking to go into rented. We have for the 1st time (after viewing 15 houses) been honest with the person that showed us round, they didn't even bat an eyelid!!
This was a main letting agent in town so me being dubious went into their office yesterday. Went through everything and she said honesty is the best policy and least she knows we will fail the check and can manouvre around this with a guarantor or 6mths upfront. She wasn't that bothered which one. If we'd have lied and it came back to bite us then we would have had a problem, can't tell you how relieved I feel at the moment.
The house is lovely with the beach at the bottom of the street and £330 cheaper then where we are now!

honesty felt like the hardest thing to do but it'll catch up with you in the end0

I found the same 6 months upfront or guarantor which was a relief just got to fond the six months now parents wont be guarantors0

the people that own the property won't 'risk' us so we've been rejected for it, £135 lighter too feel like i've been scammed. Its looking like 6mths upfront but in 6mths time i'd be on maternity leave so would be another 6 mths so looks like we've got to stay in this house as long as we possibly can

To top it off i've received a letter from lloyds tsb solictors saying if I don't pay they MAY take me to court and I MAY be liable for any fees. This is obviously for a CCJ which will be superseeded by the bankruptcy in probably Janurary next year.
1st question it/when i get the letter from the court can i request from lloyds tsb the original application stating my income and their affordibility criteria, basically have done their calculator online that says refer, it may have changed since then but I want to be sure I was given the loan correctly rather then pushed through to get it done
2nd question is a ccj dealt with in the same way as an ipa in terms of determaning a payment? This is a loan in my name only but our household soa based on bankruptcy allowances gives a spare figure of £2!! Would they wipe things off to get a payment, what happens if they agree I can afford nothing does it get reassessed and finally would they take into consideration all of the other debts and likely 50k house shortfall?
Sorry for the ramblings, thought I had prepared myself for this but have quick literally cacked myself what with this and struggling to get a house!
thanks in advance peeps0 -
Sorry to hear about the house, is there any way you could rent privately and not go through an agent? Maybe look in the local papers, trade it, shop windows etc. Usually they just need a reference and deposit, you dont have to say anything about the BR as you arn't br yet.0

keep looking in the paper but all in drug ridden areas so until we get a repossession order from nr we'kk keep looking.0

Another quick question if we came to an arrangement with NR over the mortgage payment and arrears and could stay in the house. We still would not be able to afford the secured loan.
As we're in £35k negative equity with NR, as its stands the 2nd charge will gain nothing from repossession. Are they still likely to do this and would a judge actually grant anything on the basis they have a cat in hells chance of any payment whatsoever when the house has been sold?0
