When we go br we will have about 2k saved from non payment to cover
deposit, £800??
rent £800
and br fees - £500 each unless you are exempt from the lower fee
£2K is not going to go far.
Ideally pay the deposit and the first month's rent before you go BK, if only so that you landlord does not find out you are BK beofre you moe in.
It is not unheard of for people to pay the BK fee on a credit card!If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
is the or actually check movement on accounts just before going bankrupt? I have no problem maxing cards and overdrafts etc then clearing accounts once we've not paid anything just worried that we will get into trouble!0

They ask for all bank statements up to the date of BR going back 1 year, if you can't provide them they will get them from the bank.
While the OR will overlook living expenses, deposit for a rented house and BR fees being taken out of your accounts, he will not be happy if he finds you've squirreled away a pile of cash.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Well that helps a lot. Paying rent and a deposit, the utilities if you are staying where you are based, removal costs and essential living costs is generally OK. On the other hand one OP has had a nightmare over a caravan costing £450 which they bought to live in when OH went BK and they had to move out of their tied accomodation.
A shopping spree would be frowned on and could cause problems.
They will have access to all you bank statements etc.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

well went into co-op on saturday and they were the most unhelpful bank I have come across, they just gave me a form and that was that. I am putting it down to being short staffed.
Is it just as quick to ring/apply online or fill this form in and take it into branch?0
