What do I do?

I applied over the phone and had no problems - so try ringing them instead.
Good luck with everything.0 -
How long did it take over the phone? Did you need to send any info to them0
-
In my case I phoned the afternoon after leaving the court, when the OR had told me on the phone I could open a basic bank account as my others will be frozen. I rang the co-op, explained I had just gone BR and needed a cashminder account. The call took approx. 10-15 mins and I was told that they would do a check on my identity. Within a very few days, all went through and I got my account. I don't have a co-op branch anywhere near me so deal with them on the phone and so far no real problems. Good Luck!0

Popped my application form in today and again they were unhelpful, luckily I very rarely go into a branch! I thought they would open the account while I was there once checks had been done but it appears not. I asked her how long it would take (bearing in mind I have to switch over dds, wages etc) and she said she didn't know!
As per norm for me at the moment, I started to worry so rang the helpline, they were very helpful and I should know by Monday, as its a basic account and I've not defaulted on anything yet all should be ok. They should also give me my details then too.
1st step in a long journey nearly done fingers crossed!0 -
Rang the Co-op today as I just couldn't wait until tomorrow. The application has been approved to this stage but apparently there is another check to do? I've got to ring back Tuesday so hopefully they will give me my details then.
Starting to worry that Tax Credits and wages won't get moved across in time and the dd's will be in a mess for next month!0 -
co-op account open and internet banking up and running.

now the non paying bills next  :eek:0 -
Excellent news, at least the unhelpful people came through for you in the end!!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Very impressed with the co-op now.
Opened on Monday, Received pack on Wednesday and Cash Card Thursday. Most DD's have been moved with no hassle whatsoever.
Am getting really worried about not paying anything. Basically because i've got to do it for at least 2-3 mths to save up for the br fees and deposit/6mths rent just in case. We've never missed payments before on the mortgage, normally because i'd take money off my cc or take a payment holiday, feel like 1 missed payment and they are gonna be beating the door down. I know in reality that not the case especially with Northern Rock but still getting a shortness of breath just thinking about it!
On the other hand some lovely houses have gone on the rental market all within our budget and we may also be entitled to housing benefit which is paid direct to us so we won't be classed as DSS yay. Thats the bit I am looking forward to moving out of the damp/problem ridden house that I am in now!!
Sorry for the waffle on, just using this forum/thread as a sort of diary and release of every step as we go along so when we get to the end (debt gone, nice house, new baby (due December! eek) I can look back and see just what we went through.0 -
right have been trying to find some info on tax codes when going bankrupt but not having much luck.
When you go bankrupt does your tax code automatically (well on or say so) go to BR, thats for everybody? When this happens its it for the duration while your are undischarged or until the end of that tax year?0 -
MORN green:D
It can take a while for the nil tax code to be applied and in some cases(i went bc in nov and by march it still had not be altered)never does. When it does change it is until the end of the financial year that you went bc. So in your case until april 2009. If you change your job before then it will revert back to normal with your new employer.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
