Well I just fancy a high risk punt on it to be honest. Call me mad, but I won't buy what I can't afford to lose and I have a friend who buy/sell on the exchange who might have one or two tips for me occasionally.
Is there an online stockbroker that makes things nice and simple, whilst offering fairly good rates? I only ask as I'm sure there are some very experienced traders on here, who know these things already and could save me a lot of research!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I just signed up with Hargreaves & Lansdown, simply because it was very easy to set up and the rates are pretty good. I set up in the morning and placed a trade on the same day no problems at all. As opposed to selftrade who were a pain in the butt (couldnt fill in app online, due to IT problems according to cust service so was told to fill in a paper app and send in docs..)0

£15 over the phone.
Call us on 08457 22 55 25* to open a Halifax Share Dealing telephone account (C&P from their web site)0 -
Please forgive my ignorance but I don't understand why HBOS shares are still able to be traded when LTSB has already quoted a price / ratio for them in the takeover??? I understand that the takeover is subject to shareholders' agreement but surely the fact that the HBOS share price can still move up or down makes the original deal pointless?
Can someone enlighten me on this please?0 -
Until the deal is agreed then nothing has actually happened.
It is possible for LloydsTSB to withdraw, or amend the offer at any time before it is signed, or it is possible for something else to happen which could change the deal, or even scupper it totally.
BHP Billiton has had an offer on the table for Rio Tinto for over a year now, and in the same way until it is agreed the Stock of both companies continues in issue and is traded.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
