I've been saying for months to sell these turkeys. And right enough they've halved in value in the last few months alone. The advice is still good.

    SELL! SELL! SELL!

The housing market has only started to tank so things will only get worse for HBOS.
    Good call :T

Well I am going to buy my allocation.
I defiantly will not sell my shares at this price, why would one?
I have no need for the money tied up with them at the present time just like when it was high.
I guess I will sell them when I am older or out of nessacity.
    Ps:
    Just a layman's opinion.
    Bad call

You failed in your mission to cause a run on the bank.

You have been reported to the FSA.

Who is to say the stock wont be worth 600p when normal market conditions resume.

Time will prove you to be every bit an idiot as you are. You said the shares were worthless you are proven wrong now that the banks are merging. You have demonstrated your idiocy.

Reported to the FSA what for ?????
Oh dear Yant1 you really are so unrealistic aren't you, next you'll be saying that using billions of pounds of Tax Payers money is the right thing to do

Yanty should retire now as a 'financial guru'. You'd be better off asking the cat for financial advice.

And where's all the people who said people should be buying hbos rights issues shares at 275 pence? No doubt Yanty was one of them too. :T

  • In theory you could have bought them at rights and made a 20% gain and many other times but for the moment holding them beyond trading doesnt seem to have been the best choice.
Its still possible that 5 years from now, buying anytime this summer will be seen as an opportunity but thats impossible to say now and depends on it making the most in future of being a monster bank

I think the best time to sell was the fnm buy out. Anytime at all for any reason the market rises sharply it should be expected (or least hedged) it'll fall back. Of course its easy to make a forum post in hindsight on that.

Present events are fairly extra ordinary tbh

it is possible but it is also equally possible that 5, 10, 50 years from now shares will not have recovered either.
I agree with you about hindsight and would find it pretty useful when picking the lottery numbers as well.
  • :D

I dont think its equally possible but its always a gamble yea.
Threads like this need a virtual shares account to lodge your sentiment, that way you could keep a score on who was actually right then, now, etc
  • Ads advice is to sell, well todays price is 170p.

If at any time in the future either tomorrow or onwards this share price goes above 170p then ads advice will be proven to have been bad advice.

    Watch and learn.
