What must be remembered here is if all people did as agent orange suggests buy cheap then sell no sooner a profit is made, long term this would surely cause a panic, reason being a mass amount of people selling shares so soon after the rights issue.
No disrespect agent orange but i'm sure you understand what i'm saying;)

I wonder what the recent bid talk is going to do to the shares?

Not that I can be bothered to look ofc... :)

That's almost 1/6th of EDF gas/electric price rise.

    Which makes me wonder .....

How many people will freeze to death before many decide to stop paying their mortgage (and all the other bills )

Maybe 310.25p might be unsustainable in those circumstances.

Look at USA banks/mortgage providers ....IT'S COMING HERE...BUT IT WILL BE MUCH WORSE

What about the hbos board who en masse bought shares when they were £4 or £5. It just shows their incompetence and level of judgement. They must be as sick as parrots.

Who is to say the share price wont be 6 or 7 pounds in another 6 months?

After the markets have had their anxiety attacks, they will return to being based on profits and yields :)

Just joined. I have been reading messages ref HBOS rights issue. As someone who was denied shares, I would be interested to see how many other people are in the same boat. Can't help but think of previous share harvesting at HBOS.

    Cheers:beer:
  • jhac your broker should have arranged it with you if you hold it in a nominee account. If you hold certificates then it should be HBOS that should have arranged it. Either way you need to contact the appropriate, and find out what has happened, if it is their mistake they should compensate you, if it is yours ie you didnt update your address then you probably have little recourse.

Thanks for that. Certificate holder so was relying on HBOS et al. The reason given was that cheque was damaged. Halifax's official registrar however said that from their photocopy they could see no real problem with cheque. Cheque now seems to have disappeared into the ether. I received information the afternoon before the rights issue was due to close so no way of getting replacement cheque to them. Still no reply to phone calls.

    Cheers
