    2) It's usually twice a day, but I do agree that even that is a little excessive - once a day would be fine. It is useful to have it on this thread though, rather than hunting for the share price myself, and it's easy to look back and see how the shares have been performing over time

Not wishing to get involved in the ongoing discussion, (I don't care, people can post what they like) just thought I'd post this link in reply to your point above, in case it may be of use for this stock or any other you want to track over a time period. I would however suggest that chart gives a better idea of performance over time.

  • hbos up 45p to 306p an increase of 17.2% on the day.

That represents an increase of 30p a share on the rights issue price. So if you had sold today, you could have made 30pence per share entitlement.

Now, I don't expect you'll receive any apology from the likes of addowny, banderman and others, who, in no uncertain terms, advised people to not take up the offer. But at least there is a lesson insomuch as, don't take advice from people who profess to know more than the experts but in reality are no more clued up than
    ourselves.

Surely if anyone had wanted the HBOS shares they could have bought on the open market at a lower price than the option price.

Yes you are correct and that makes their advice not to buy hbos at even a lower price
    even more wrong.
I don't argue that hbos have tanked 'big style' but the share price at sub 2.60 looked cheap.
As we stand, here and now, their advice proved wrong, no question.

I've been saying to sell the turkeys since when they were well over £5 per share. So my advice was good. It doesn't matter if some organisation does take pity on HBOS and buy them out, you won't get £5 or the £11 or £12 per share they were not so long ago. HBOS still pongs real bad.

As far as your crowing recently has been concerned, anyone who followed your advice and was scared into not taking up their 'discounted' shares', is out of pocket. Had they decided to sell sub £2.50 because of your scare stories they would be even more out of pocket. Should this possible merger take place, anyone jumping ship on your recent advice would certainly not thank you.

These shares are where they are, you have turned out to be wrong as things stand.
How about being gracious enough to offer an apology

They're above the rights issue price today. A few days ago they were below. What makes you so sure they'll remain above the rights issue price forever more?

The fact is thay HBOS is run by a bunch of clowns. My advice was always good. When you find out a company is run by Coco the clown you should sell as quick as you can.

Maybe I could take the liberty of answering for him...

    1) Like I said before, the slow collapse of one of the world's biggest banks is major news, and worth discussing.

You're talking nonsense. The share price is in the doldrums, but a bank with £250 Billion of deposits is not on the verge of collapsing.
Also, is it a coincidence that we have not seen Setmefree much today when the share price has gone up???!!!
