Exactly what are you after?
Half the time people say "an explanation" but no-ones really going to know what happend. You'll probably end up getting some standard responce saying this has been checked, that has been checked etc.
In reality it was probably a one off event.
So seeing they won't really know how it happend, you'll at best even if you push this get a made up letter to keep you happy, what do you actually want?
ah come on, you know what they're after, vouchers lovely vouchers.
porbaly couldn't give a stuff about an explaination and jumping for joy that they have an opputunity to get something for nothing.0 -
The flippant answer is just be glad that you have bought something from ASDA which will have some flavour in it! But, on a more serious note, it is a matter of health and safety and its worth phoning trading standards and environmental health for their advice also.
ASDA will fob you off with a few vouchers but if you can rack it up at no cost to yourself you may end up better off.
Good luck.
Why does anyone shop at crappy ASDA anymore>?Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

Then move on! going to the EHO will result in a visit to asda , asda no doubt will have their house in order, nothing will come of it.
Lifes too short for this kinda thing!
Not necessarily. A Tesco's near me was done by their local EHO for dodgy practises.
Just because a shop is large and well-known doesn't mean their hygiene standards are up to scratch.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

That sounds very vague to me.and in addition to ASDA being spanked by EH and their hygiene processes being looked at.
EH will often check a supermarket store regularly anyway. It will be nothing new to them.
Many on here seem to think EH never check anywhere unless someone complains, they check places all the time.0 -
I would definitely contact your EHO.
It is a H&S issue, and you should at least be compensated for your trouble.

Not sure why people telling you not to bother are hanging around vent boards......?0 -

Probably because they've worked in similar industries and know more than you!
Surely the best advice will come from people who know rather than people who don't know?0 -
Morning Tim! Wow you must have been up all night!:rotfl:
I did work in Retail Management for a spell, after further education 10 years ago; However, I didn't find it challenging enough.
During my time in retail, our aim was to keep the customers happy. "The customer is always right" being imprinted in our minds. Are you saying this is not really the case nowadays, Tim?
Would you let us know which shop you work for so we can all avoid it?;)
Have a great day all, and good luck with the plaster battle OP!

I no longer work in retail either! I now run my own business from home so I can sleep/be awake when I whenever I feel like it.
I've said nothing about "keeping the customer happy etc" I've just said exactly what will happen anyway.
I'm sure some retail positions would have been challenging enough for you, you would have though the CEO of Tesco (Terry something or other) on his 7 figure salary might have a job that you might just a bit have found challenging!
Sounds like you think you were too good for retail or something? We could always call you superfurthereducatedgal if you want!0 -
Is your "business" divination per chance, Tim?
You must be highly successful, given the amount of time you spend on the Vent board, posting your opinions! Either that, or you don't ever sleep!
Having had many successes when things go wrong in shops, I support ransomsam's decision to take matters further. The OP has nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking matters further. The store, on the other hand, has everything to lose by ignoring/failing to respond to the complaint! Seems a bit of a shame to give up before even trying as you are suggesting.
Anyways, must dash Tim, busy day. Nice chatting to you.
Speak soon,
