Contact your local EHO officer at the council, and tell asda that as well, it might stir them into action.
I hope you still have bread roll and plaster, I would suggest freezing them for now to keep the evidence.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

yep its already in the freezer, im gonna try ringing asda this morning see what theyre saying.
thanks0 -
Take a picture of it and then show the picture to Asda, do NOT take the roll. This really should go to Environmental Health, being a blue plaster it is obviously from a member of staff. Surely if you are preparing something like that and you are wearing a plaster you should also wear a glove? I should imagine they just put the dough in a machine so it would not interfere with the flavour.
I normally am in favour of getting as much as you can out of the shop, which you should still try, but in this case I would take it further too. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Do not give asda the roll!
Ask the CAb for advise.

Waste off time and money ringing Asda. You gave them a chance to respond now go to the EHO.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Exactly what are you after?
Half the time people say "an explanation" but no-ones really going to know what happend. You'll probably end up getting some standard responce saying this has been checked, that has been checked etc.
In reality it was probably a one off event.
So seeing they won't really know how it happend, you'll at best even if you push this get a made up letter to keep you happy, what do you actually want?0 -
I would make a big fuss. You'll be helping others not have the same problem in future (imagine the next person actually chewing on a plaster _pale_ ) and in addition to ASDA being spanked by EH and their hygiene processes being looked at, they might furnish you with a fair few vouchers or something in return for them not having to admit liability.
I must just add, I have no experience with this kind of situation. I just think if everyone who had this happen just ignored the problem our food hygiene would go down the drain.“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” - Lao Tzu

take the roll back to asda, speak to their customer service manager, get a refund and a replacement, they should give you a gift voucher for a nomimal amount for the time and trouble you have taken to contact asda.
Then move on! going to the EHO will result in a visit to asda , asda no doubt will have their house in order, nothing will come of it.
Lifes too short for this kinda thing!0 -
Did they charge you for the blue plaster ?0
