Am I being foolish... I haven't stocked up on anything and other than my usual Britta filtered water jug (gets filled when I'm waiting for hot water to run through), I hadn't thought about keeping water extra water for an emergency.

It is really important to have adequate liquids, you don't want to risk dehydration. I've stocked up on wine to be on the safe side... not that TPA will let me drink it :o

Yes, but vodka and whiskey will have a lower freezing point than wine so it stays liquid at lower temperatures, which is also a consideration

I need to drink the wine to get at them........ and if the heating goes off the temp will be dropping so by the time the wine has gone and the house is freezing I'll have the spirits to start on...... home made plum brandy anyone ;)

SmlSave if you mix a decent Single Malt with lemonade I'll have no hesitation in throwing you to the Highlanders and Islanders (Islay mainly in my case) to "correct" you; I may be English and from the West but I won't have a good Scottish Malt ruined! :D

(and I thought you were soooo sophisticated :p )

Cat is a bit worse for wear this evening; went out about 1800hrs and came in wet and dirty underneath, limping, no collar and tufts of hair pulled out. Now he isn't small at 5.2kg but I think he's had a run in with a bruiser, poor lad, limping on front and back legs....

Hopefully it's just a few bruises etc as there's no blood but not nice seeing the usually very svelt and exquisitely marked tabby (even the vet remarks on the excellent swirls etc in his coat) looking very worse for wear. I think he's in for a day inside tomorrow and being kept warm!

Had dental check up yesterday; needed a filling repaired... now, the worst phobia I have is dentists harking back to seeing my Dad having had all his teeth pulled in hospital when I was about 7 and also an extraction for me due to an abscess where the anesthetic hadn't taken effect a little while later.

So, needing the filling repaired I opted for no injection and see how I got on

As it was well removed from the nerve it was fine and no numbed mouth afterwards, so I was chuffed at that :D:D:D:D

£45 or so for the treatment and polish but I'm so lucky to be on the NHS for this.

cute_19.gif No worries there Stuart! I would never mix single malts - only blended whisky in my house!

Your poor cat, is he feeling better today?

Well done for braving the dentist :T
