and as ive posted before heres the problem
what suits one doesnt suit all
personally for me now i dont 'doorstep' anything,i dont sign for anything
everything gets a card left and returned to the delivery office for collection
i tell my coworkers the same
just today one was fielding a complaint for an RD letter they had signed for and delivered.something they had done many times for the same person as before.
except this time it was relating to a parking ticket and they are not happy about it being signed for
hence why i just card everything now0 -
Our old postman used to leave things in the back yard. The shared, locked back yard surrounded by a 7 foot high wall... whether he was practicing his rugby kicks or what I don't know - but to get it over THAT wall... thankfully we never got sent anything breakable by post because with his parcel-punting it would all have arrived as a jigsaw puzzle instead.
Now since we've moved our veg box delivery guy is fab - I told him to just tuck it down the side of the house if I'm out (relying on the fact that our street is about as dead end as they come and I'm generally home just after he calls if I'm out working) - instead he comes all the way around the back of the house to leave it in front of our patio doors where I'll see it and not even have to go get my shoes on to take it in - bless him!
I don't actually begrudge having to go get a parcel from the depot - it's relatively near here and opens late enough that I can call by after work - I'd rather have that than everything hoofed over a high wall and broken. When it's a delivery with some sense they usually tuck it down behind the wheelie bin which is a bit safer.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

we get people who moan how big the car park is let alone coming all the way to the office0 -
Essence of it is - people will moan whatever. I just want whatever's gone through the post to emerge the same shape at the other end as it was when it went in!
Seriously though, if the England rugby squad need a new player - our old postman's got one hell of a parcel-punting technique.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
At a previous company I worked for a lady rang to say her parcel was missing as the courier had put it in the recycling box and it had been collected by the recycling company.
This person had a feew parcels from us go "missing" in this way in the past, and we had always replaced without question.
I did a quick one minute search on her address for her green box recycling days, and found that her box was not due for collection when she stated it had.
I rang her back and said that her box was not due for collection until the Tuesday, and could she check again - lo and behold, she suddenly "found" the parcel!!!!!0
