_pale_ Thanks (I think ). I'm a few miles inland but know where those are (or should that be were). BBC weather showing sun from Sunday for Garrucha & light winds so I'll concentrate on that (& not the Spanish site showing showers & clouds
)
Not losing sleep over the end of Mariela Oasis though, but a pity for those who worked there.

We´re about 30 mins north of Almeria city, so are a bit protected from the high winds they get on the coast. Hours and hours of rain again thro the night once more, this time accompanied by thunder and lightning, so the leak in the roof started dripping once more. For the moment the rain has stopped thank goodness, but not for long according to the forecast. Our rambla is once again in full flood, this time because of the rain. Yesterday we had a slight dry respite for a few hours and could see that the warmer temps had melted the snow up on the mountains, so that had been a big contributer to the gushing rivers.
We have our village chloresterol fiesta today, back up plan is for the BBQ to be done in the council Almacen along with the tractors, diggers etc.
Hope everyone else is having better weather than ´sunny´ Spain at the moment

Hi sandy - Tunbridge Wells is fairly wet too - but we desperately need it to wash away giant piles of snow and ice. Looking good today. Sun is trying to come out. Temperatures are good too. Hope your weather improves soon. Happy Boxing Day.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Oh no, you won't catch me inside a bar :rotfl:
Sandy, hope Papa Noel recovered from his trauma & leaks have stopped. I've never seen any water in the ramblas, will be strange to see.
Well, the weather appears to have done as instructed, BBC is showing sun every day & around 20-21 degrees :T, can't wait to see that big yellow ball again.
Need to suss out what is going on New Years Eve, hoping to go down to beach & see some fireworks. We do have tickets for a do in an English bar - don't really like the place but friends will be there. So hope to do some Spanish stuff then drive back to village after midnight, park up & have a few drinks . Off to look at some websites & see if I can work out what's happening.
Can anyone advise me on pharmacies in Spain? I know you can buy antibiotics but what about inhalers - Ventolin & Clenil? Can these be purchased over the counter and does anyone know roughly how much they cost?
Thanks peeps :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Most things seem to be available only had the odd thing refused and asked for a prescription, not sure on exact things though.
Names sometimes change, so it is better go give them an empty box rather than ask by name

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I agree, show them a box. I think here that sometimes things that are available only on prescription they will give you without one if you have a box (because you must have had a prescription in the past, iyswim). Didn't work with my blood pressure tablets though, even though the pharmacist knows I have them; he said he needed a prescription from the doc - in fact he went next door to the consultario and got it for me!
I think someone I know just used to go in and buy the inhalers, but I have a feeling they were quite expensive.Might be wrong though.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Thanks - I thought Mandala was for the young trendy set. I may be younger than some on here but not that young
- Beachcombers is more my age range (though as I said earlier, obviously I don't go to pubs
).
Thanks all for info on inhalers, will just play safe & get before I go, but will pop into Mojacar Pharmacy & ask while I'm there.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
