On what evidence do you base this statement?Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

They wouldn't givea me the annual rebate anyway last year. Had to get energywatch involved. Claimed it was never promised......needless to say I've changed suppliers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

>:( >:( >:( >:(I have had so much trouble with Atlantic Gas Electricity that I would never recommend them to anyone. I had bills that were always estimated no matter how many times I gave them an actual meter reading. They also billed me for services I never used and then threatned to take me to court because I refused to pay then until they sorted my account out. Their customer service is absolutely appalling! I had to get Energywatch involved in the end up and they proved to be so helpful! DO NOT MOVE TO THEM!!!0

Sorry to hear about your troubles Young Nick.
I changed over to Atlantic a little while back. I've not had any problems so far but I did notice it says on their website that they (or rather a contracted company) read meters once a year, so our bills will normally be estimated.
We can take a meter reading ourselves and let them know so they can give us an updated bill but they don't alter the monthly payment based on this.
I can't give you the link as the info isn't there now Atlantic's part of Scottish and Southern Energy.
Hope that helps a little.

:)Its ok! I am now in the process of changing to Powergen Dual contract - I will get Tesco Club cards points by changing over and I'm hoping to save money by getting the Tesco Club card points for every pound I spend on my bills. ;D ;D ;D0

Their customer service is very poor. They have taken 15 months to get my surname correct & despite a call each quarter it is still wrong. I get my cheque no problem but have to return it as I cannot pay it into the bank as guess wot? my surname is incorrect. I never get my gas bill I have to chase it. They have not read my meter in 2 years.
This being the case can anyone tell me why they have recently decided I have 2 electricity meters and on my last bill invoiced me 2 years worth of electricity on this phantom meter? It has taken 4 weeks to get a bloke out to look at my meter. I was told to stay in from 8am to 1pm today & if I was not here would be charged £58.75 for the privilege. The chap has a just been and not even bothered to knock on the door. I have called Altanta to complain about the hassle to me for being at home today. They did not like it when I asked for payment of my time @ £84.04. I cannot wait to switch to a company that cares about its customers when their error finally gets sorted.

I don't think Atlantic are accepting any new customers now they have been taken over.
Annual rebate cheques are processed at head office, there is little point contacting customer services regarding this as they are not responsible for them - they are still being issued. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi,
I had problems with Atlantic didnt bill me properly (overcharged) I complained to Energywatch who gave them 12 days to respond to my complaint. They did not meet the deadline and have agreed I only need pay £100 for gas in a 5 bedroomed house for Gas from October to April - a result. Have now signed up with another operator as I'm not going through that again. It pays to challenge0
