It`s times like these when I`m glad I broke the whole door off my washer,it was accidently, just came straight off in my hand the same day I got it.I have no problem with mould on the rubber, just a slight problem trying to get the door to close properly when I want to wash some clothes.

thanks to all for tips and very useful links on this thread.

I've got a problem with the fab conditioner dispenser in the drawer of my WM. although I've cleaned the drawer out several times, after each wash the fab conditioner bit is full of water. I have to take the whole drawer out each time and empty it in order to put more fab cond in.

plus it means it between washes it's got pooling water in.

I did a service wash with soda crystals in the drum after dyeing, will do this regularly from now on as use loew temps and liquids,if it's on special.

will try a hot service wash with normal ( bleach ) powder in the drawer as there's still black gunk on all the nooks and crannies in the drawer housing bit.

thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

    Hi all

We've suddenly got a thick black mould on the inside of the seal on our washing machine, I've done an empty boil wash with some detergent and it still doesnt wipe away. Any suggestions? Since we've been off work we havent been using the machine as much, I think this is what has caused it.

    Cheers

Hi try spraying with a household cleaner such as flash and a scratchy pad. This happened to mine over a period of time and I couldnt clean it off completely, eventually I had a new door seal which is cheaper online and you can usually fit it yourself. Make sure you wipe the inside of the seal after every wash & leave the door open to prevent it happening again. Hope this helps.

Thanks Pink, thing is our washing machine is behind a cupboard door (new build fitten kitchen) so we cant keep the WM door open without having the cupboard door open which is in just the right place for a good knee bashing!!

has anyone got ideas on how to remove and stop mould growing on the rubber seal of my washing machine?
Since we moved it to a utility room, where it is nice and warm and there is no direct sunlight, it has really taken off, ughhhhh, so much so that it is starting to mark my washing.
I leave the door open as much as possible when I'm not using it, which seems to help a bit, but don't know what else to do.
Any tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Always leave your door open when not in use and dry around rubber seal with an old rag when you have finished using the machine for the day.

To help get rid of the mildew that has already occured, put an egg cup full of bleach into a boil wash (at least 60 degrees) and when the cycle is complete gentley scrub over mildew with a toothbrush. Finally put on a quick cold rinse wash and when the cycle has completed dry the rubber with a rag.

Hope that helps, it worked for my machine.
