  • When I looked at this site I was surprised to read other visitors to this pub had noted this. When I visited for the first time for several years on Sunday 3rd January 2010 at 1p.m. with two friends for dinner and a drink we were revulsed by the stench of vomit inside the door and appetite killed left immediately. I emailed on their official feedback site and have had no response. Has anyone reported this ogoing problem to the London Borough of Sutton Environmental Health Office yet?
  • I've worked in the Customer Service department for Wetherspoons (probably opening myself up for some flak, but what the hell!), and it is very small, not a call centre or anything like that. It's the comments about people writing letters and not getting replies which has prompted me to write here - the department respond to EVERYTHING they receive, believe me. If there is a name and address to respond to, they will respond. There have been occasions when we have had 2 or 3 letters from the same person, complaining that they have not received a letter from us in response to theirs, and on each occasion they have missed off their personal details!! We're not mind readers....

And yes, some of the Wetherspoon letters may look similar, but how many different ways are there to apologise for the state of the toilets????!

All feedback IS reported on to the Area Managers, General Managers and suchlike - they are being extremely hot on this stuff at the moment.

And finally, no company is perfect... if I could find one that is, I would go and work for them! :-)

It's not Wetherspoon's customer service department you need, it's their HR dept.

  • c.c. to local environmental health office, too.. poor hygiene affects everyone in the pub!
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)
  • I recently complained about the level of customer service training (or lack of it) a particular staff member received. My complaint went via Head office, arrived with the Regional Manager which was then passed onto the Pub Manager who then did NAFF ALL! If you are going to Complain ensure you always back it up in writing to Head Office, the pub managers attempt to apease you but actually do nothing! If there are more than one of you in the party ALL of you put in a complaint, they probably still won't do anything but hopefully the more complaints they get the more chance that they might actually do something. The majority of "Associates" are pleasant and hard working, its the management where the problem lies.
