Another day not spending anything I didn't need to - just 98p on a rolling pin from Asda!! Made a quiche, some shortbread and butternut squash soup made with my own chicken stock when I got home from work so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself because they'll be my meals for the next couple of days (I'll be on a late shift) and the shortbread should cover my sugar cravings instead of nipping to the chocolate machine.

Basketcase - step away from the Starbucks!! They lure you in with their nice coffee and hot chocolate and cakes and fleece you! My butty shop near to work isn't even as nice - it's a Greggs with a drinks machine but the mocha is addictive and has become a habit - a 95p a time habit. Not too dear on its own but when you add it up over the months....

I spent £9.20 on a top up shop at Morrisons.... but 65p of that was on 5 doughnuts........eek!!! No good for my diet. Doing this challenge really made me think about what I was buying, it could've been so much more that 65p that I'd spent.

Aiming for a NSD today, I have stuff for lunch and dinner tonight. There isn't anything I need! Oh... I have spent £12 this morn on my mate's b/day pressie, a mag subscription but that was budgeted for. I may make her a card tho.... save pennies x

Good luck everyone for today xx

Hey Sally....it's not about having NSD's (although they help) it's about not spending on un-budgeted and unneccessary things... so don't feel annoyed cos you're doing really well. Well done on selling the ebay items, did you get much from them? xx

Yeah i know but just want to have a couple of nsd's. I made about £100 on ebay after fee's postage etc.

Well yesterday I spent the remainder of the food budget (and a bit more :( )on fruit & veg and Milk £8.52. Just been to put Pre-school fee's aside for DD and bloody DH has taken some of the money. Now this is where is all goes wrong. He had £20 on monday (as I had the car) for train and taxi and he came back with £9 so what the bloody hell has he spent that money and the £3 in the pot on..grrrrrr

    Hi everyone, :hello:

Just popping by to say, made my first unnecessary spend of the month so far - 40p on a newspaper yesterday. Whats's worse is it was last weeks paper - which i already bought - so will have to spend another 40p today getting this weeks one! How stupid!! Never mind, doing well so far I think.

    Good for you Dansmum!

And tell me about Starbucks! Fortunately (I suppose), I have a Secret Weapon - well, 2 actually! - lots of real coffee gives me a migraine and I'm sensitive to wheat so can't eat most of their stuff! Never thought I'd be glad about that.

UNfortunately, they also sell those nice caramel rice crispie thingies. And chocolate. Mind you, I've resisted the chocolate machine which lurks a mere 10 yards away for days...

Looks like I might be having another NSD. PLEASE - someone tell me what I'm missing?!

Ooooooooooh doughnuts! Can't eat those either, but I do love 'em. And I can, technically speaking, eat them. I just feel like cr4p for about 3 days afterwards!

I agree about the challenge making you think about what you spend money on.

Do you think this could develop into a sort of "No Unnecessary EATING" challenge?! :rotfl:
