The thread was locked by the goofbay forum moderators/board guide, as they have been trying to get an explanation from the site owners - the final post on the topic confirms this, but i noticed the banner at the top of the goofbay forum has now vanished, yet there has been no comment from the admin or owners?

Seems like one of the team didn't understand the ins and outs of the vouchers either...

" Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in replying to you sooner with regards to the voucher code that we emailed out, I have been away for the last few days and haven't had the chance to get to a computer until now.

Whilst I was away a member of the Goofbay team received a voucher code from eBay that he believed could be shared amongst all eBay members. He had one of our design team create the newsletter and promptly emailed it to all of our registered Goofbay members so that you could benefit from this offer.

Unfortunately, this was not a voucher which could be shared around and it will have only worked for some of you, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to all who this voucher did not work for. Goofbay is a well established and respected eBay affiliate and we have no intention of misleading you.

Whilst we understand your anger at our error, and we hope that you will see it as a genuine mistake, we will continue to bring you free eBay search tools, a reliable free sniper and a wealth of eBay support from our forum members, of whom which I would like to thank for answering so many questions over the last few days with regards to this issue.

Once again, we are sorry for this genuine mistake and look forward to retaining you as a Goofbay user!

    Regards,
    Matt"

After having read the above post, regarding the stupid employees of Goofbay:mad:

I still am very disappointed with the goofbay brand, because of their negligence, I bidded for an expensive item that I would not have bidded otherwise for, and even though it is for a small sum, it is the principle of the thing, that a lot of people, would have probably done the same thing, so therefore it is Conning marketing technique to get eBay, and the affiliates More money, of course.

Would be nice to hear what other people say, in regards to the above response

They should honour what they have sent out, instead of sending a humble, we made a mistake apology, and we should just sit back and take it

    hello

i just registered with the forum to say the goofbay £5 con stung me as well.

on the goofbay forumsthe topic discussing this issue is now locked. how dare they stop people from expressing their anger on the site itself?

it seems shocking to me. you can't find out the token doesn't work until you've won something, by which time it is too late to back out of the deal.

it's only five pounds, but its an outright trick!

    grrrrr

I totally agree it was wrong for them to lock the thread, there was no need at all, it wasnt abusive, although the regulars were getting a bit shirty IMO with all the newbies coming on complaining:rolleyes:

Im not impressed with their response but what can we do?!!
    :hello:

It looks like somebody else has jumped on the voucher bandwagon - I've just found this in a spam folder.

The website that sent this also advertises on Goofbay...
