    Afternoon all
My new printer arrived today & what a can of worms it opened. I have only just managed to get the pc up & running again, I knew there were things wrong, but decided there was no point sorting it out til Katy had gone as she was the cause of most of the problems, amongst other things she'd deleted the drivers for the CD/DVD drive. Anyhow, it is now all up & running, Katy phoned me at 11:30 to say she was on the plane but that it would be late taking off as some people hadn't boarded yet, they were due to leave at 11:10!
Apart from that, hubby is now out of work, BIL has found a couple of small jobs for himself, I was up til midnight again last night listening to BIL's woes, he has good days & bad days, but just at the moment I feel like Atlas, as I also have a friend who is having problems selling her house & if she doesn't sell she will be in financial trouble by August.
PP the flowers look lovely, I'm sure Twink said in one of the post's that the bear would be nice for your DD.
    Hugs to those in need.

    Evening Guys!

Thanks for all the lovely messages. DD loved the teddy and is now sitting in her bedroom. She said to say "thank you!".

The nurse came and worked her magic, so am more comfortable now:D

OH and I have a quiet evening as DD is at her cousins and think she is being taken out this evening for a meal and the cinema.

Jayward-Im not sure what has happened at the hospital, but if you have been mistreated...then you complain hun! I have made 2 formal complaints in the past 6 months and dont regret it at all regarding my treatment by incompetent doctors. Please also dont feel guilty about talking about your day even if this only includes how pants your feeling!....I do it all the time, but I am sure I am correct in saying that we are all amonst friends and we honestly dont mind.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

Yes yes yes, no one deserves to be treated badly by the nhs, it does not matter if you work there or not, we all pay into the nhs, and we need to at least be treated with respect, I had a problem with a really rude DR a while back and put in a compliant against her, people like that are in the wrong jobs  . Hugs to you xx

Chrisca50, It is beautiful isn't it? I'm not sure how to post pics, but if anyone wants a look, type "maggie sottero Dion" into Ebay. There are a few of them!

:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: Happy Birthday BusyGirl

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday so DH took me to see the latest indiana Jones film and we had a meal on the way back home.

Have been asking DH for a year about getting our passports renewed and he was determined not to do it yet as he thought we would have moved by now.

Yesterday he starts wittering about maybe doing some work abroad and needs a passport - most indignant when he found out he would have to wait for several weeks and looked at me as if it was my fault!!!

We had a short sharp discussion on how I was never going to be daft enough to listen to him again and in future if I thought something needed doing - then I would do it!

    GRH!!!!

Filled in passport forms online and need to get photos done for DH,me and DD(14).

Need hair done now as I am not spending ten years with a passport photo that looks like I have been draggged though a hedge backwards!

Three different salons are all short staffed and cannot fit me in so might have to go to York!

Glad the nurses visit has helped.

Hugs to pennyp, jayward, smokey,JackieO and anyone else who could use one.

I don't know what this is about but my experience is that a formal complaint will take some time to filter through the system but it's entirely worth the hassle. I complained about the treatment my late father received at a hospital in the Strathclyde area (which did not result in his entirely expected death) and it took a great deal of patience to see it through. This was 10 years ago and it took about 5 years to get the asked for apology and admission of failings. The feeling of 'yes' was wonderful and it has instigated changes in the processes at that particular hospital.

I got a copy of his hospital records and was able to substansiate irregularities and fabrications in them to a high level - the hospital had no-where to go. In addition the surgeon concerned had undergone a BMA/GMC (can't remember which) investigation because of another complaint in the intervening years.

Whilst being totally grateful that we in the UK have access to the NHS we must always be mindful that it should be delivered in a proper fashion and not let the attitude of arrogance or neglect get in the way. In modern terms we are paying customers and need to ensure that we receive the service we are paying for. Just imagine that the hospital is a supermarket/ department store and we are handing over hard cash... do you complain THEN if the service is substandard? Hell yes!!
