morning all
penpin - hope the nurse can make you more comfortable at least.
celyn90 - i work in a university library and we often come across sleeping students, especially at exam time. we're supposed to wake them up, but i tend to leave them a while if they aren't snoring too loudly.
today my youngest two are in nursery as, even though it's the holidays i still have to pay for their place and if i have to pay they go!!! i figure they will have a much better time there than with me anyway. so i am going to do some housework and take dd1 (6) swimming, although she doesn' t know it yet. me in a swimming cossie =
let's hope i get lots done as my parents are visiting at the weekend. last time, my mum looked at a tea-stained mug, shook her head sadly and said 'i never bought you up to be such a !!!!!!!'
i am also slightly worried. when we got home yesterday at 3.30, next door had left their keys in their front door. i rang the bell and knocked, but no answer, so i have taken the keys (including their car keys but the car's not here) into my house and left a note sticking oout of the letterbox. they are a lovely (if slightly noisy) family from indonesia and it's not like them to be gone all night. i may have to pop in to their landlord's house and let them know what's happening...0 -
Morning all :hello:
Mad rush this morning as the bl00dy bird was waking me again at 5am. We then slept in and managed to make it from waking up, to the bus stop in 15 minutes.OH has so much work on that he stayed in the office last night. Poor love. So I'm making his favourite corned beef hash for tea.
Need to go to the bank in a mo and Homebase to return something I bought in error last week.
Weather is still reasonably bright here but the temperature has definitely dropped.
Aussie.... Did you get your results?
RZl....Glad your bug has gone.
Essex girl... Good luck to Essex boy at the hospital.
Betheebee...Good luck to you too.
Happy Birthday Busy girl.

Morning everyone,
bit later on here today as i got caught up reading the GC.
The weather is awful, cold, drizzly and very foggy, i just feel like curling up and not going out at all.
Unfortunately i`m working later so i need to get a move on i have some cooking to do and the houndlets to walk, as the weather is so bad i`ll have my shower last off, as its so damp outside that my hair will probably still look like rats tails but i`ll do my best
Have a good day peeps and ((((HUGS)))) to all.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning All!
Been a bit lazy this week. Half-term and all!
(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them.:o
DD fell when she was getting a taxi to work on Friday and hurt her ankle. She's done two shifts since then, and it hasn't gone down. Looked at it yesterday, and took her straight to A & E. She has to go back to the fracture clinic on Thurs, as they can't decide if she's got a broken ankle or not!
Managed to get her wedding dress from ebay. It's a Maggie Sottero (Dion) brand new, with a stole and bag, for..............................£128 including postage!:T :T :T
It's a £1500 dress!!!! She's thrilled with it. Will have to be shortened tho, she's only 5ft 4in:rotfl:
Feeling dopey this morning. Legs hurt last night so took some pills, and they're so strong, I feel like I've got a hangover:rotfl:
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Good morning!
Grey and gloomy looking outside, hopefully will stay dry enough for the kids to get outside, else they'll be going stir crazy and driving me dotty by tea time! Not sure how many there'll be today, yesterday was good, we only gained one extra - think it might be four today! Best get some mince out and see how far I can stretch it - recommended the additions of oats and lentils plus a ton of veg to a friend at work, and she was amazed, then last night she told me she'd tried it at the weekend and couldn't believe just how far it made it go!
General tidy round today, need to get upstairs under control, piles of clothes seem to be appearing at an alarming rate! Will ask ds to make some of his lovely rolls later and throw some soup in the slow cooker for tea tonight I think, need to plough on with the washing too, got some very bright new pegs that make me smile as I hang it out to dry, I know I'm easily amused, but doesn't look like I'll be able to use the line today. Not sure what else we shall be doing, I need some sleep cos I was working last night and I'm doing the same tonight, but then that's it for this week, yippee!
Oh, need to find homes for the lavender and acers I bought last night, reduced to 25p and 52p in Mr T's, what a bargain! Best get them out of the car later, won't help them in there. Think I've also got some purple sprouting broccoli seeds to sow, will have to clear a space in the garage to work methinks.
Have a lovely day all. xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Back again
Many Thanks for the best wishes for OH at the hospital but its actually DD's this time. She is having a radioactive scan and will be slightly radioactive for the rest of the day, apparantly as long as we dont have to go through any airport scanners she should be ok.
Am having a terribly slow start this morning, have pottered about a bit but really need to get a move on and get in the shower. Sun has gone and its very dark now but have checked the weather and it should be sunny and about 200 -
Morning all - very late for me! I had a bad night's sleep; nothing to do with the storm but everything to do with restless legs! I finally got to sleep at about 3am but then overslept! DH luckily had a late start anyway - he's just left and I have busied myself making healthy flapjacks and some bread-and-butter pud. The second load is in the machine but will have to be dried on the airer - the rain looks like it's here for the day.
(((Hugs))) to SMOKY, PENPIN, MRS MIX and DD and everyone else who is or has been poorly.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
BETH - regarding the smell in the rented house - try leaving small open dishes of vinegar in every room and, also, some dishes of bicarb - both absorb smells and are very effective as well as natural and organic, so a lot safer than brand-name air-fresheners and you only need small amounts. Cheaper too! Good luck with the assessment - you'll be so glad to get the ops out of the way, won't you?
Well, the weather is really gloomy so I hope we get all the bad stuff out of the way this week and get some real summer from the beginning of June - it's about time!
N9EAV - so sorry about No 9 - please send us some piccies of the survivors.
Well, I have a few invoices to type out for DH so I'd better go and make a start on them, I suppose.
Will see you all later.

Hello folks - haven't been on here for a few days as we were in Ireland for the horse racing at The Curragh. It was just fab. Great horses, great atmosphere. I did my OS thing and worked out my budget for the day - and came out with more than I went in
- so did OH. Stayed in Dublin Sat-Tues so having a bit of a tidy up morning here (while managing to sneak on OS as well) and then going to Yarmouth races this afternoon. I don't spend my life going to races - honestly!! Just works out like that this week
Other than that - will count up the rest of my grocery spends and finish off my sig for May. Should be ok as I didn't count the holiday money which had been saved up. Will have a look at June and see what I think for that.
(((hugs))) to those in need/ would like. Really sorry to hear about poorly folks in here.
