Hi Mumzy...just a thought when my DS was 4 and still in nappies we were able to apply for them FREE. Might be worth asking your Health Visitor for more information on this. It has been a god send for us. He is now 5 but still in nappies as he has some learning delays but that doesn't make any difference to the application

Could be worth a try :D

Do you know why this was? Ive told my HV about him still being in nappies but they have not mentioned anything. Think My 2 year old going to be dr before my son but they do say potty training comes better for girls lol i didnt even potty train her...my son told me she had had a wee on potty lol without asking,,been same for about 4 weeks now.

If the sugar is for tea/cereal perhaps now is the time to stop taking it? I was bet by my Dad that I couldn't go one week without sugar in my tea. I won the bet but at the end of the week the sugared tea was yucky and my sneaky old Dad had the last laugh!

As for cereal - I often have it without any sweetner but if I fancy a sugar hit I add fruit (fresh ot dried)

Thanks Lucifa, I only have 1 cup of tea & 1 cup of coffee a day & just have to have half a tsp in each :o Never have it with cereal tho I'm a fruit n fibre addict & thats plenty sweet enough.

I bet you're now going to tell me to make my own cereal !

I am on Income support but i don't think it makes any difference.....It was one of the HV that told me about it otherwise i would never have known. Try asking her again or try asking a different HV as it wasn't my regular HV who helped me :D

Had my 1st tesco delivery on Saturday - came in at £79.48:T - was originally £96.76 with delivery - but with special offers & a £13 off code from here - came in at under £80!!!!

Was really pleased as I also ordered another big pack of nappies to take the total over £90 (for voucher to work) - so DEFINATELY won't need anymore of those for the rest of this month (nursery have a full packet & I've now got 2 full packs!)

Have so far stuck to my meal plan (amazingly!!) Not spent any more of grocery budget so far this week:j

Well Ive had another nospend today grocery-wise. Shame about the £34 for fuel! That will most likely last the month though.Ive had 3 NSDs in a row since my shopping on Saturday. Trying to spend less time shopping and more time working. Now having a declutter and getting rid of some bits on Freecycle. Amazing how many people get their breadmakers from there! Quite a few on my group have both offered and requested one.(Isay my group as I run it).

Ive been good the last couple of weeks on the clothing front too-vowed not to buy any clothes for anyone for 2 months-thats hard in my house.
Really must try to get to a jumblesale again! I miss those, from years ago. Such amazing useful oddments at times.

Reading what people spend on dishwasher tablets amazes me. The 5 in one lark still washes no better than the basic powder(Lidl) and you still need to add the salt and finish! My carton from Lidl has been hanging about all year and there is still some left yet we use it every day.

Regarding cutting down on household cleaners I think that over the years Ive tried nearly all of them and my conclusion is: A bottle of w/u liquid and a bottle of thick bleach replaces most of them.Otherwise, ordinary laundry powder. Stardrops is also a good cleaner for just about everything.
Ive also tried some soapnuts for washing and these are ideal for sensitive skin.

Asdas toilet soap 15p for a pack of 3 is just a good as the more expensive ones(unlike Mr Ts)and the litre bottle of shampoo for about 29p form either Asda or Tesco is excellent. We also buy the conditioner at 39p which is great for treating the littleones with dreaded nits(all mine now outgrown this long ago).
    Hope that helps someone.

sosh - how old are your children? only reason im asking is both my dd and ds are aged just turned 2 and ds is 4 next month..and dd2 is dry in the day and nappies at night and ds4 is the same..he still wets bed and nearly 4 so he still in nappies at night

    Hi mumzyof2,

dd will be 3 in September. She's still in nappies at night, but has started to wake me up to tell me she's wet them, so I'm hoping I can get her out of nappies over the summer.
ds is 7 months and seems to poo every hour so I'm going through nappies like there's no tomorrow.
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j
