Does this thread disappear then to make way for july thread.:D
Hi there, the thread will not disappear.
The "sticky" that keeps the thread on the front page will be removed and the thread will remain on the OS board. You may have to search through a few pages to find the thread in a few weeks time.
You may find it easier to actually subscribe to the GC thread. Then if you have not got time to read it all, you can read at your own pace. It will stay in your subscribed threads until you delete it( i think).
Just incase your not sure of how to do this, here is what you do.
Click on thread tools, a box should appear with "subscribe to this thread". Click on this then you just confirm it.
To look at your subscribed threads, click on "quick links and a box appears with "subscribed threads" click o this and it should list any thread you have subscribed to.

today i came home, cuboards and freezer empty, i spent £94 the kitchen freezer is full but the grarage freezer is less than half full, not enough for five people for long thats for sure.
ive downgraded everything i can. look for reduced section - nothing today but i will try again next week.
i brought a chicken and now i need some advice. i normally roast it, hubby has breast, son has leg, daughter has other breast then the rest in a casserole for the baby. he spits most of it out. i am doing annabel karmel but he hates it.
hes now 11mnths old but with only 1 tooth so hes still eating finely mashed food.
what can i do with chicken for him. anyone got any ideas? One day I will live in a cabin in the woods0 -
I've decided to give this a whirl properly in July. Please put me down for £200
I've been lurking for quite a while, cutting down in general and keeping most receipts but haven't actually done it properly all month but will try my best now I've joined offically. I've just ordered a Panny BM so will be looking forward to lots of yummy bread. My freezer and storecupboards are well stocked due to making the most of MOCs so hopefully my budget be ok to start off on. There's 2 adults, 1 3yr old and 1 small dog. The budget will cover all breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
I'm not absolutely sure what I spent this month (My first) as I was ill part way through and so out of it for a few days that I don't know what my daughter spent and don't know if I included all my own receipts, however I don't think I went wildly over £180 which is still a huge improvement for me.
Please put me down for £180 again this month and I can try all over again to count every single penny!
Bonus has been:very little thrown away, planned all meals and stuck to them (except 4 days I was ill) have cooked loads more hm meals from scratch and we have NEVER eaten so well!
So I still class this as a great rsult.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
fertsykids - i used to make my daughter sweet potato and carrot mash with very small cubes of chicken this was her fav, also what is in the annabel karmel recipe as it may be a single ingrediant that he doesnt like or even the fact that its is wet food as such as my daughter still hates anything that is covered in any type of sauce so we just serve her the same as us minus the sauce, my suggestion would be to try making the casserole but serve it up without the gravy and serve small pieces of each type of ingrediant ie chicken, carrots etc... to see which ingrediant it is that he doesnt like then just make the casserole as normal minus that ingrediant.
sorry to ramble hope it makes more sense to you lol

Hi Ferty!
My youngest is 11 months (one at the weekend!), and both my children have (aceept for the first couple of weeks of introducing food) always eaten what we all eat as a family. I have never needed to buy pre-made food, which I think has saved me a lot of money. In the first few weeks of introducing food I used Annabel Karmel - but now even my youngest eats the same as us - including chile and curry - I just add sour cream or coconut milk to hers - so it is not so spicy!:rotfl:
I would just roast your chicken as usual - pop some chick, veg and a tad gravy or milk and blend up or mash with a fork. He will probably like to think he is a big boy eating what you eat. I find with my youngest the battle at the mo is her wanting independence at the table - so I have given her own spoon and bowl to 'eat' with and all finger foods are a huge plus! Good luck with your wee one - I know they do like to make tea time interesting!0 -

Angelnikki can you put me down for £260 for July. Ta0 -
Well just updated signature and am declaring June as £323.53
over by £43.53 but can live with that as I used the sun £5 off vouchers each week and now have stockpiled a lot of bits so not worried July is a 5 week month for me so Nikki please put me down for £330 please Hopefully will be well inside but with price rises you never know!!Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

I think that I can make a good start now, I've only been on for a couple of weeks, there's still a lot for me to learn!
A few little codes I don't understand like £2 challenge, what's a snowball, amongst other things.
I've got my mortgage pig and have saved some of last month's shopping receipts to guide me.
So for myself, my DH, and 2 dogs, could you put me down for £180 please?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
