    Afternoon all

I think i must have had someone looking out for me this last couple of weeks as for some reason i have been having lots of NSDs and running my fridge right down... and now it seems i need to go home... My sister has been battling cancer for the last year... but the last couple of weeks she has been in and out of hospital and is now back in again and in a bad way..so im going to turn up and give her a shocker :p So I have just rung hubby and he is now dashing round camp trying to sort out "compassionate" flights for this sunday.... just hoping hubby can get a flight too..fingers crossed...so the rest of this week will be used turning what things need using into things i can freeze... I know its not exactly important in the grand scheme of things right now ..but it will help keep me distracted and hopefuly stop me climbing the walls  .... Right i will get of and get some sorting out done... have a good day everyone..and keep at it:D

i hope when you show up her face lights up :D if you need anything and pass thro surrey let me know :grouphug:

Your sister is lucky to have a sister like you Mrs M. I hope this is a passing phase and a getting worse before she gets better. I'm sure your being there will make a big difference to her.

I have now exceeded my budget. Only by a couple of pounds so far but I have a week left to go. Then again, OH did a cook-a-thon yesterday and we have enough cooked meals for 10 days at least. Plus, bits and bobs of ingredients. So I don't think we'll need anything other than some fruits, if that. Considering this was a month when we couldn't get our usual Asda delivery (internet was not set up in time in the new house) and bought most of our groceries from Sainsbury's, I think we did ok. But will make sure we're under budget next month. £100 is quite a generous budget considering that we're only 2 people and we only count groceries (no eating out, toiletries, cleaning stuff etc.) AND OH gets his lunches free at work. So many of you manage in so much less.

MrsM I'd like to echo what everyone else has said. ((((big hugs)))) for you and your family xx

Like denise & ifonly said, if you're anywhere near (norfolk/suffolk border) then give me a shout, I could rustle up some twinks & :coffee: for you.

If you'd like I could do the new GC list for July as the new thread is starting this weekend? Let me know if that would help?

    Hi Mrs M,
If you really want a banana recipe to keep you occupied, here's one I just found:
    Banana and lemon drizzle cake
175g soft butter (& some for tin)
    175g caster sugar
    3 eggs
    300g SR flour
    2 level tsp baking powder
    2 ripe bananas, mashed
    grated zest of ½ lemon
    2 tbsp milk
    topping:
    juice of 1 lemon
    100g granulated sugar
Line base of 20cm deep cake tin, butter sides.
Mix together cake ingredients until smooth and pour into lined tin.
Bake in oven preheated to 180oC/160oC fan/ gas 5 for about 45-50 mins.
Leave to cool a little then remove from tin.
Make topping by mixing ingredients in a bowl.
Pour over the warm cake and spread to the edges.
Freezes well iced or un-iced – I normally make 2 – one for now and one for the freezer.

Not sure who posted it originally as it is on my 'MSE recipe' list, but sounds lovely and I think I will be trying it myself later...
