Also wanted to pop in to post a quick update.

Have been and done most of this months shop at Mr T's - came to around 65 all in I guess - just got to get a joint of beef for Sunday - currently on offer at Somerfields and will do at least one Cottage Pie for next week. :D

Will update my sig in a mo but am currently at 265.99 which means I'm well on target with only one weeks shop to go :T

Thing is, I'm not totally sure what I've done differently  However, we have eaten much better pudding wise at least as I'm determined to waste nothing so we had pineapple upside down pudding the other day with leftovers today, and satsumas were used up in jelly, and we've had two banana breads this month. The kids are very pleased

    Thanks all!

    Hi guys
its a good job I'm not in the june gc as I have had to buy two pumps for the pond which came to £140 which id quite reasonable considering we spent £120 on the last one and that was a few years ago.

What do people mean when they say they are 'updating their signature' I seem to have missed a bit or is it that I am just dense.

SuzieQ :T think I will try the lasagne as I love veggie food, thanks a lot

MRSMACAWBER  you're quite right Lidl bread flour is the best, I

went to asda last night, didn't need meals but still spent £40. cat food.. shreddies.. bread by the ton we eat 2 loaves a day inc pack lunches. yoghurts again we eat loads in packed lunches and little ones for puddings.

Have you ever thought about getting a yogurt maker? I got the Easiyo one last month - half price from Julian Graves - and it's never been out of use yet! My little one is 18 months and loves yogurt and it's saving us a fortune. My DH eats it by the ton now too instead of icecream. You can get little branded tubs to take it to lunch as well but any little tubs with lids will do.

The branded yogurt mixes are about £1.99 but I think you can make your own with milk to be extra MS...

I've just been experimenting and make some "yoghurt cheese" by straining the yoghurt, really creamy, like Philadelphia. Just a thought...

  • I'm staying up far too late, but hey, I'm on holiday from med school. Wouldn't be there if not for MSE! Been following this month's GC from afar and decided to try making some bread as I've just had two NSDs in a row for a change.
We had similar bread to this in a restaurant on Father's Day and I was so happy with my "recreation"!! Not uploaded any photos ever so hope this works! Recipe available if you want it...

  • KAAT-LADY I've only just worked out the signature bit! Go to the top of the page and click on Quick Links. The drop down menu shows edit signature and you will be able to write your own sig which will appear at the bottom of all your posts. You have to go back to edit sig to change it. Hope that makes some sense!

    Hi Kaat_Lady
No, you're not dense, if you look on the bottom of people's posts, you will see their 'signature', a little bit about themselves or their debts and challenges.

To set up your own signature, go to the top of the page and click on 'User CP' (control panel). On the left hand side of that, you will see 'update signature' and if you click on that, you can enter your own signature - GC and all!

    Hope that helps,
    Denise
