Morning....bit dull & wind-swept at the mo, so perhaps the planned jacket spuds for tonight's dinner will be welcomed. I was beginning to think aliens had invaded at least ONE of the offspring cuz of all the sudden interest in salad--eldest has been fine but it's taken 25 years for the other two to catch up:p

I'm not complaining tho, cuz truth be told we could all be a little more considerate of what we eat, so today is a trip to the farm shop for lettuce, cue & spring onions + whatever veg I take a fancy to for tomorrow's b'day roast. Then a quick stop in MrT for the b'day black forest gateau; was gunna have a bash at making one, but seeing as it's a "week day" pud I think a frozzied one will suffice;) But then I could change my mind cuz they did have some luvellee looking cherries at the farm shop last week...oof decision decisions:D

About that popcorn Dink? If you get yourself over to the Old Style v US Daily Allowance thread, have a look at page 58, post 1157...The whole thread is a mind-blowing read & probably not what you would think, so give it a try:smiley:

  • £1.41 spend in morrisons yesterday on value raisins and 2 packs of stork (noticed it had gone up in tesco's last week but not in Mr M's yet).

Am trying not go shopping unless desperate due to having so little of my buget left to last until the 30th. Will have to go milk, f&v and yogurt shopping at weekend and the following weekend too. Have enough meals in my freezer to last. Think I'll go over but having overspent in Mr T's to use up MOC's I don't feel too bad and know it'll make next month a bit easier (hopefully!).

    Morning all

My 8th NSD in a row this month :j and still no signs of me weakening ...YET :p
Hubby is out golfing..still he gets paid regardless so its not bad,,, and he has requested the chicken n sweetcorn soup and HM bread for dinner whenever he gets in tonight... so i will get the soup made later -then that will be that chicken gone at last.. we have had chicken dinner, chicken salad and chicken pasta salad off it so far -so i think it has more than done its share for €3 :p
tommorow he fancies poached eggs on toast... so even though the meal plan has gone through the window its no great shakes as everything is in the freezer and will give me a head start next month :T

Have warned hubby that next weekend when we get paid im going to want a ride to the bigger NAFFI as thats where i stock up on my whoopsed whole milk -fingers crossed they have some of the 3litre bottles for 50c again;) ... i have deliberately not used up the space i have been making when taking the milk out as im hoping to get loads more back in again.

right im off to my x stitching and then im going to finalise next months meal plan and shopping lists... have a great day everyone :D

    Hi Guy's,
just to let you know, Tesco's also sell Allinsons dried yeast in a small tin with a plastic lid (125g) for 99p - works out cheaper than the sachets and is easier to keep sealed and weigh out.
(don't know if any of the others sell it, I presume they will, might be worth a look!)
    HLH's,
    Denise

Denise, I think that there are 2 Allinsons tins and I bought the wrong one! They look fairly similiar, but the one I bought is not suitable for use in a BM! Doh!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was very bad last night and got a Chinese takeaway. However, I'm still under budget, thats probably why I weakened :)

No problem, glad it was of use.

Are you buying a BM ? I got mine from Freecycle, and it's great - might be worth a try!

I keep reading about these F&V deliveries everyone keeps getting - where do you all get them from and do they work out cheaper?

    Thanks guys

Right, I know I can make something out of the following but I'm hopeless and need step by step instructions!:o

I have lurking in the cupboard/fridge...

    Lots of dried pasta twirls
    Tinned tuna
    Passata carton with herbs etc
    Sweetcorn
    Medium half fat cheese

I know there's a pasta bake in there but I've only ever made the "out of the jar" one and am a bit nervous of just flinging it all in and having a bash myself! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We've decided to book our summer holiday this afternoon so I'm on a mission to use up everything we have and save as much as I can towards the spending money instead of squandering it in Tescos!

Oh, and by the way, 3 NSDs in a row on the GC for me :T - am definitely getting the hang of this! Tomorrow and Friday are both covered too so should get to the weekend without a top on on F&V and try to use up the freezer bits for the 3 working days I am home for next week (away in Galway with work on Thursday/Friday next week).

Any help with the pasta thing would be great!!!
Thank you in advance (cos I know one of you fab people will help!)
