morning all
oooh a lovely new thread....can't believe i've made the first page!
i've got to nip out early, just to get some mushrooms and carrots, oh and to Wilkinsons cos they've got 4-packs of Heinz beans on offer for £1.25 at the mo, so i want to stock up a bit on them
then its back home to do some batch cooking....spag bol and mince/onions, cook a bacon joint to be sliced up and frozen to be eaten in sarnies, and hopefully get a yogurt cake made as well.
Weezl, how on earth are you gonna manage on £10 for the whole of June?? that's gonna take some doing :THi Mrs Macawber,:D
I would like to join in still please. I have £10 to last me through June. I have bought and paid for almost all the food already, so It's not as bad as it looks.
Weezl x
thanks to Pink Winged for starting the new thread off, and thanx to Mrs Mc for taking the time to list us all
Good luck everybody, have a great day xx0 -
i know this is really complicating things
but is there any way we (someone with more brains than me
) could maybe do a graph or bar chart of some description so that our monthly totals can be seen at a glance maybe over the year?
it is fabby what mrsmcawber does with her list and im sure we all really appreciate her hard work and time that she spends adjusting it but it would be lovely to see at a glance how everyone else is getting on over the year and how newbies slowly crack the grocery challenge by reducing their budget each month. (sorry for being a pain in the bum mrsmc)
Now.....where is that icon of a little man laughing his head off???? :rotfl:
Sorry angchris -but im in the same camp as you with turning all the numbers into graphs... and i can't for the life of me remember the name of the lovely poster who is a statistition (sp?) WHERE ARE YOU? you know who you are
.... Im sure they will come forward..as i believe they were keeping track of the figures

Last day of May today, payday tomorrow. Need to tidy up the weekend's spends, but think I can make a better attempt at 250 pounds for June as it will be only 4 weeks, and have got a bit of practice.
One night away though for DD1s birthday in the last week of June, got 1p flights to Dublin, so can't complain.
Thanks

Good luck everyone!!!always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
MrM can you put me down for £150 again this month - my month starts on the 1st.
I did go over last month but this was due to having a new kitchen fitted so a few takeaways and I have already started to re-stock the cupboards.
This should be manageable and I can start on reducing it from next month. Oh, I've also got a weekend camping this month
Good luck all!0 -
Right I'm gonna be joining the challenge again, have been really struggling but think its cos I havent been concentrating enough. I have upped our food budget a bit since all the price rises so it'll be 190 pounds for june. It starts on friday when I have tescos coming round with a big monthly shop about 100 pounds worth includes nappies but the rest of the month should just be top ups.
OH has at last come round to the idea of watered down full fat milk, especially when I pointed out it had gone up another 10p per 4 pints this week. And we seem to be getting through alot less of it, so it goes to show how much he was using all by himself.
Just found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant which I think is why last months budget went to pot so really have to keep going with it this month. But when you are tired and feel sick but have to cook a family meal you tend to use quicker options then the stuff you got out/bought to cook doesnt keep, so have been throwing food away which so goes against the grain and need to put a stop to it, so big effort this month. I've also got some liver in the freezer and havent a clue what to do with it cos I cant have it now but its not gonna keep till baby is born - any ideas anyone?0 -
congratulations merfe!!!November NSD's - 70

Morning All,
Merfe - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :T :T :T :T
well my GC starts today as it's payday. already spent some of it yesterday, but that does include 48 loo rolls and a lot of burgers that were whoopsied.
i have about 7 pints of milk frozen already (thank you MrS for the freebies:T ) and have more coupons to use up this week so shouldn't need to buy any. also have 2 litres of longlife in the cupboard that i'll use if it gets that close. my freezers are full to bursting with reduced rolls and meat, and a little veg, some frozen meals (hm of course) bananas(for baking) and a few ice lollies for OH. and as my cupboards can't fit in anythign else til i use some up i'd better get my meal planning sorted.Nonny mouse and Proud!!
