Morning all
A NSD for me again today :T
Its over cast and a bit nippy here at the moment -not that im complaining as it gives the veggies a break from the heat and me a break from scuttling up n down with the watering can trying to keep up with filling the saucers
Think i will get out later and get a few more salad leaves set...i do have loads in various stages but its saving us a fortune so will get more under way... have loads of pak choi to start picking now too.... can feel stir fries coming on;)
As its not so hot i took a pack of mince out of the freezer last night (which wasn't on the meal plan but i will just cross the chicken dinner of and save it for another day;) )-so im planning savoury mince with carrots and onions in with mashed potatoes and cauli that i want to use and then a selection of french, kidney and borlotti beans and peas and sugarsnaps from the garden :j . I think im going to do extra potatoes and veggies so i can can do bubble n squeak with hm sausages tomorrowI WILL make space in the freezers
Have to confess to having been sat on my behind so far this morning x stitchingwell it is for my mums mas pressie so NEEDS to be done
Hubby is golfing today... so that has saved us a packed lunch ..and next week he is golfing wed/thu/fri with the army -so requires no lunches then..and sat/sun he is playing in the course competitions so i won't be feeding him lunches then either...so all in all thats saving us quite a bit of groceriesit all adds up i guess ..... Can't wait to see what a crumpled heap he is by sunday night :rotfl:
I think lunch for me today is the hm coleslaw left from last nights southern chicken wraps -which were very nice again..i love just fetching the balls of dough out of the freezer :T ..think i will have some goats cheese and avocado with it mmmmm
If things carry on as they are i have a feeling that next month im gonna be able to do a real "tight fisted" month without feeling it ...its amazing where you can save money when not trying...
Those baguettes i made for instance... if i do my loaf as usual using 500g flour i can get about 3 lunches out of it for hubby... do the baguettes and use 600g flour -it makes 6 baguettes and hubby say 1 for lunch is plenty (i can't finish one  )... so i get 6 lunches out it... and only need to bake once a week.... not that i give him that every day..although he would take cheese salad baguette every day if i let him...again 2 hm tortillas filled for lunch and he is happy....
anyway enough wafflewill get off and get back to the sewing..
have a great day everyone:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hey Gang....I'll try to be brief:eek: "HOO SED NO HOPE! ":rotfl:
No1 moaned about tuna & cue in HM bread was too soggy by lunch time, so yesterday the bag was 2 slices of 'buttered' bread & the mix in a pot with a fork! Many peeps have asked if my butter knife has had a row with the bread:p REE-ZOLT:T One happy bunny at lunch time! I often do the b&b seperate, then take various bags/boxes with grated cheese, tuna, sliced toms, sliced cue, sliced onion etc etc on picnics so folk can make up their own sarnies to what they like--bread seems to keep better that way too. Also frozen bottles of made up squash or water the night before & used those as the ice pack; saves room in the coolbox & also makes for a refreshingly cold drink.
I think it was MrDT who introduced us to the bacon hotpot dish---everything OK with you? You've been a little quiet:o Soz! It's the Muvva in Me:laugh:
The three other adults in this homestead are seemingly using less TP since I've been surreptitously squashing it:j & have to say the Wilko quilted one is V.V.good.
One :money: solution to wrapping things up for the freezer/lunch box etc, is to use the plastic innerds from boxes of cereals, particularly for things like seperating HM burgers & that sort of thing...*must be summat in the air cuz I've just had a real hankering for cornflakes* Thanks for the advice re:silicon liners & stuff too--have to say that I rarely visit Ebay, but may have to make an exception this time:o
Oh Nessquic, I defo had my Mumma head on reading about your OH:p Tell him BMF sez he's got to eat what's already in before you'll go buy anything more, & perhaps sneak in a packet of frozen sausage rolls so you can occasionally bung a few in the oven while cooking dinner for him to take to work the next day;)
Had an NSD yesterday cuz I cleared some more [STRIKE]of the jungle[/STRIKE]space to make room for the two extra growbags I fetched on Tues. Luckily I managed quite a bit before deciding to come indoors & do some baking, then we had lovely soft, continuous rain all night & the world smells glorious this morning:happylove
So spends from Tues to go on--£4-72 at the farm shop for 2 grow bags & some F&V, plus £7-46 at MrT for milk & stuff. Should be the local rag & ONE daily paper, but depends on what the headlines say...or  get one of the offspring to get them for me so I'm not led into temptation:DFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Just another quick update - forgot that we'd run out of toilet rolls and squash and bread so had to get some last night. But, instead of going to Tesco and ending up spending loads of stuff that I don't need I went to the corner shop and may have spent a few pennies more than the supermarket but only got what I went for.
Total spend £3.90.
Boyfriend did cook a yummy curry and naan bread for tea too so no spends there either! Going to the cinema this evening so it'll be a quick tea - beans on toast or something similar - will leave a bit of room for sweeties!!
My 5 bean chilli I've been threatening to make since the weekend will have to be tomorrow now - at least then it'll provide a few meals over the weekend and maybe one or two for the freezer?:o
Its manky in Manchester today - cold, grey and wet - definitely not sunbathing weather anymore.
Have a good day - off to update sig........0 -

:hello: Hello All!
I've just updated my signature as I crumbled this morning and have been shopping! In my defence, however, there was some bits I got today that were on last week's list but then unobtainable. Also, I just couldn't resist half price rhubarb at Tesco's, which I'll stew with some apples and mix with crumbled weetabix and ice cream. Delicious!
I'm cycling to work in about an hour and it looks like it might hammer down with rain soon, so Happy Days! To take to work I've just made some sweet and sour mixed veg and tofu which I'll put in my own home made wraps with salad; Yum!
Warm greetings to everybody; I hope you all have a really great day!
Dutchy xxToto, something tells me we're not in Kansas anymore......0 -
Upset with myself as forgot to take anything for lunch at work today - been here since 7.30am and was starving when the trolley lady came round so brought a jam & custard slice and a bounty ( and I'm making bounty bites tonight as DS has a maths exam today so thought it would be nice for him!)
Anyway, total spend £1.50 so still OK for this week but slightly over for month - need to cut back next week some more...
Off to update siggy now -

Just spent £10 exactly in one of the local shops stocking up on fruit, veg, yogs etc, well 15 miles away, but had to pop to that town to get DS birthday card, night nappies from Boots and a few other things. Took DS for lunch as a wee treat, used some leftover treat budget of mine, and he enjoyed it. Might do some baking at the weekend- the infamous hobnobs and maybe some naans. Dinner is from the fridge/freezer tonight.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hi all - know I've been a bit quiet recently but I just haven't turned the computer on at all. Been coming home from work and zonking out on the sofa til I crawl into bed. Haven't got the last receipt on me at the moment (think it was about £26). Not sure what it got spent on apart from cornflakes. Got a thing for them at the moment!
Got a letter from Barclaycard the other day saying that they're sending me £160 refund for the CC charges that I claimed. Got about £70 each from the other two I tried but have now sent them to the financial ombudsman.
On a slightly worse note, had £70 sponsor money that I had collected stolen from my desk drawer at work yesterday which wasn't fun. Being a complete hormonal emotional wreck at the mo I just burst into tears which was rather embarrassing! Felt like an idiot as I shouldn't have left it in my drawer. Just makes me angry that someone would do that.
Anyway - sorry to go off topic but thought I'd let you know that I'm still about but trying to get used to this pregnancy thing is tough! Will update signature when I find the receipt. Hope everyone else is well
Hey JennyBee,
