My hubby's the same - must be a male thing, plus he always chops a large chunk off the corner to eat while he's making them:mad: - messes up all my nice slices that I do, hehe, I do like my symmetry:rotfl:
:T :T .... I drive my hubby nuts with my obsession with symetry :rotfl: .. he even moves things on purpose to see how long it takes me to notice  ..usually about 2 mins before im leaping off the sofa to put stuff straight againi just get so restless and twitchy when things are out of line  ..im trying to beat it though as it even annoys me
ooohhh and folks i can't take credit for the sheperdess pie recipe..i thin it was Shaz who posted it..i just remembered where i had seen it when someone mentioned it this morning so copied it over here-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Just popped on with exciting news, my strawberry plants have strawberries on them :T - was worried flowers were falling off but now I know why lol.....so chuffed, they are varying in size and still green/white yet. Lets hope we get some decent weather, drizzle though today
I just thought I would also wish the doggy well. I got a rescue collie x (we think with spaniel lol) in 1997 but when I left home in 2001 we decided mum should have her as she likes the company. She has done stints with me in my old flat, and more recently sis at her house with her kids and DH, although back at mums now. Mum takes her to local vet and it costs a packet for even small treatments! Lets hope the PDSA can help and that its nothing too seriously wrong with your doggy.mandy_moo_1 wrote: »
then this aft i have to take Missy, my border collie X to the PDSA. over the last couple of weeks i've noticed one of her eyes is looking a bit milky, and i'm praying its not the start of a cataractat least cos i'm on benefits, i can just make a donation to them, and i won't be faced with a massive vet bill. She was a rescue dog, and i'm not sure how old she is...maybe 4 or 5 now, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for her that she's not gonna have anything wrong

Hope your dog is ok mandy_moo, my cat had to go to the vet a couple of weeks ago for his eye. Another cat had scratched it and basically wrecked it:mad: The vet reckons he will lose it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Hiya everyone - just wanted to sign on quickly to let you know that I popped into Iceland this morning and 4 pints of Milk on offer at 2 for £2.:D
Also phoned my nearest large Tesco and asked Customer Services if they are taking the Morrisons spend £30 get £5 off vouchers from the Sun and they said they are:T so shall be going there for the next 3 weeks as I just didn't like Morrisons when I was in there earlier this week, stuff seemed to be a lot more expensive than Asda and Tesco, also if I can use these Vouchers in Tesco and get Clubcard points at the same time then even better.:D
Just finished lunch and now off to water Hanging Baskets etc then want to make the base for a Banoffi Pie as have my Sister, BIL and their 3 kids over tomorrow for Dinner. Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.

Just had a thought - Mr Brassic and I like a glass of wine with our meal - since we rarely go out we think it's ok, but it does take up a large part of our shopping total a month. I was considering Home Brewing, a quick check of the internet seems to think you can make wine for 75p a bottle which sounds fab. Just wondering if anyone else does it and if you need cast iron innards to survive it?
TIA

Tesco-shopper wrote: »I never buy chocolate drops now as they work out quite expensive per gram. If you like plain chocolate I find the cheap own name brand Tesco and Sainsbury's chocolate is very good and its much cheaper - at around 26p (ish!!!) per 100g. I don't think their milk chocolate is so good though, but I still use it! I put an unopened bar in a sealed food bag, put it on the floor and whack it both sides with a rolling pin. BANOFFEE PIE
For the Base
100g(3.5 oz) butter, melted
250g(9oz) digestive biscuits (always buy value ones can't tell the diff)
For the Caramel
100g(3.50z) butter
100g(3.5oz) dark brown soft sugar (have used other)
397g can carnation condensed milk (thought I'd better state brand as I've pinched their recipe!! LOL)
Topping
4 small bananas (or whatever!)
284ml carton double cream
cocoa powder for dusting
You will also need
20cm (8in) loose bottomed cake tin, greased and base lined
Method
1. to make base, crush/process biscuits until like fine crumbs (I stick them in a plastic bag and bash them with rolling pin -ooh gets rid of all my aggression). stir in melted butter. press into tin. Chill the base while you get on with rest.
2. To make filling, place butter and sugar into a non-stick pan over a low heat, stirring until butter is melted and sugar dissolves. Add condensed milk and bring to a gentle boil stirring continuously to make the caramel. As soon as it thickens, remove from heat and spread over biscuit base, cool and then leave to chill in fridge for about 1 hour, until firm.
To serve remove pie from tin,and onto serving plate, slice bananas and place on top, softly whip cream and put over bananas. Dust with cocoa. Iknow the calorific value per slice if anyone is (not!) interested, but it's not pretty. Prob best not knowing!!!!LBM 17th April 2007:j
