hey its something we can plan for next year maybe i cant find the linky thing for the pink bra walk either ...probably back a few pages and i missed it
  • Well final total for Amazon is just under £70. I am sure the post office diddled me in posting one of my books by about 60p, i reckon could have got it in a lower category...
Decided to take lower priced ones off Amazon now and relist on ebay, to make better profit with postage etc. I had a look on green metropolis, thanks ISOM, and they are very good for calculating weights as well..mini tip there for anyone considering flogging. A couple of my books were only worth about 1p on listings, so took them down to market and flogged them for 70p each. Will hit him with another lot next week..hehe

My final item went on fleabay tonight for about £50, so total sales with them, not postage is coming in at £55. I have spent some of postage allowance, and left about £4 up on that. I am not quite sure how their fees work yet, so i will keep some aside for that.

I have been touting cv around today and looking at a few schools. I thought i could natter ..but some of these heads can talk for England, i feel like i have been for three interviews today. But all in all a pleasant experience. I have similar planned tomorrow, after purgatory with some of reprobates in class 5.

El, i was thinking about next year as well. I did a rough tot up and don't think i am going to have enough time this year to raise dosh..i really think it takes a lot of thinking about. I have totalled up some of my recent walking though and i was shocked (when i had planned it using google mappy thing)that it comes to over 8 miles round trips. I walk locally on canal, and in foothills..so i am thinking it will be easy walking or rather build up to half marathon and then the uk!!! *cough* possibly in about 5 years time!!

  • Hi El, i think that plan would definately work. It gives us time to save up, plan and get sponsership.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised about sunday. If you exhibit half the stamina, you show on here..by eck you'll walk it..to coin a phrase.
I have to admit to not having an MSN address, so will sign up this weekend. The kids are going to love me, as i seem to be on here every available as it is, i can just see the rolled up eyes now!

I had another wee thought, if young squizz would care to join us, and anyone else who likes walking...what a merry gang eh?

  • Hi ISOM, i think i was probably too cheap on Amazon, which is why books went. I have seen some going for more on fleabay, but no bids on them. You never know though! I was checking my listings and removed quite a few where i had been undercut, how very dare they? I have a limit as to how far i will go to make money..heheh

Hello Bobster - yep I'd be up for that if it's in a few years time!

Am planning to keep up the walking and hoping to do two marathons next year - one walking and one running. Actually found the fundraising quite hard this time, there seem to be so many people doing sponsored things at the moment that I think people feel a bit sponsored out! Have noticed though that people are always keen to donate raffle prizes etc though so that could be a way ahead.

Well done on the eBay and Amazon sales :T
