Jeez, I popped out to work and came back to pages of turnip talk. Well done on the amazon sales - haven't tried that yet but will give it a go I think.
P.S. tumshi is a sort of friendly insult here - "ya daft tumshi". never knew that was how it was spelt though so this is an education thread already!Mortgage OP 2025 £5750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

I learn something new every day. Never knew that!
round our way we just say, "ya daft turnip head" so similarities in dialectic friendly insults there, I think....Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Neeps, and that picture are SWEDES.
Turnips are whitish and tinged with purple sometimes.
Not many people know that Richard Curtis meant to use parsnips because of their more obviously comical phallic shape, but he too got muddled by his vegetables.....
I'll get me coat - it's probably an anorak
Well we can huddle together, as we peruse wikepedia.... scripts of episodes and little known facts.:oBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Bob hi are you enjoying having your very own diary/blog ? I am loving it and will be stalking, nay lurking here ! Am feeling less upset today but have had my Thursday afternoon girlie meet up & that always cheers me up. Have been cuddling two baby/toddler granddaughters of friends too. Awww. Are you feeling 100% now after your kidney probs ? Hope so. XX El4LNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I am a lot better now Ellidee. I am glad you have had a nice day, and have had a little cuddle.
You can lurk and stalk all you want, join in a bit. Conversations seem to be veg orientated. I have just been looking on the greenfingered thread and they are having a pumpkin growing competition..now there's a challenge. What would Baldrick do with one of those?
Just had to mention about the New River cottage programme which is on at the moment. He has updated his Chicken out campaign..brill thread on here about it started by Rog. I have really stuck to my guns about it, and feel everyone should.
Interestingly he is also starting a veg growing campaign, straight to the table from the garden..see we are very topical here. Turnip lovers unite!!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hi Bob
I watched that River Cottage programme - the start was great, but once it got to the nitty gritty of killing meat I switched over- tried to switch back, but every time it was still meat, so I guess I'll be sticking to Gardener's World or something similar...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I know, that bit makes me shudder too. I suppose he is trying to be educational, and show folk that meat isn't pre prepared in plastic trays...but still:eek:
I quite like gardener's world, and have the veg growers book (amongst many others) I really have to get my finger out on that one. Maybe looking at pimping my plot..to coin a phrase! I can now imagine the comments about veg:o :rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
