Just calle Sky to cancel from top package. Dropped it down to thirty per month for three months, and can cancel the whole lot regardless after one month. The guy on the phone said to ring back nearer the time as i've been with them for over eight years, and they'll sort something else out. Good result?
  • I got Setanta for the first time in the past few months through BTVision and have been shocked by just how bad it is. I imagine the experience of many is the same. For me it was always the case that I'd be opting out in the summer (easy to do on a pay per month basis), but I'd be surprised if the outfit itself can survive paying out so much money for the Premiership games and other sports it gets (I like cricket but didn't bother watching one Indian 20/20 game) while providing such a poor platform to watch them on. To me it seems like a storm that shaping up to become another ITV digital.....

    My first post!
Have just phoned Sky and when I said I wanted to unsubscibe to Sky Sports they straight away offered me a reduced subscription of £25 for the next 3 months saving me £13 a month, so I am well pleased. Didn't even have to threaten or haggle.Good ole Martin my hero!!

I also got offered sky sports for just £25 for 3 months but I said I didn't want the sports and could they offer me the movies instead for the same price. The lady said 'absolutely' and I was connected within 2 minutes of my call. The deal expires on 31st August but I'm happy.
  • My first post on excellent website/forum. Am just repeating what dozens of people appear to be experiencing, but Setanta are simply refusing to cancel my subscription. Letters sent (Recorded Delivery), 6 e-mails (all acknowledged, NONE replied to) and I even tried calling them twice (only to be on hold for 10 minutes). Have cancelled credit card so no further payments can be taken but, if anyone is considering to subscribing to this shocking, amateurish bunch, I would strongly suggest you give them a very wide berth!
Hopefully, i'll be posting more positive comments on forums in future!!

Rung them today again and got no discount. Basically had an argument in the end when I said a friend got offered a £15 discount a month.

"There are no discounts available anymore"

Lost is finished now so I'm thinking of going to Virgin !!!!

I was hoping to do the opposite way. Don't watch football but do watch the golf. Wondered if I could get 3 months reduced sports which would cover the US Open. PGA and Ryder Cup.
  • Phoned Sky and got no offers. When I was passed through to PAT the guy there told me that my sports had been removed. He did'nt even ask why or try to haggle with me!! Called Setanta next and got the next 3 months for a fiver a month. Can't complain with that.

Oh, and this is my first post. Go me!!

I think that it is the same everytime a suggestion is made like this on this forum. So many people ring up and get great deals that they have to make a point of offering no more deals. So you have to get in early.
I was going to do this but think I will leave it as it is as then I will have to go through the hassle of getting Sports put back on come August.
