Asked if any special offers, to be told "NO and they can't offer anything over the phone". Must be doing something wrong here!0

If you are near Stratford, East London and haven't subscribed to Sky before (or know someone who hasn't) there's a fella in the shopping mall offering free Sky+ and £30 installation instead of the usual £99 for the Sky+ box.0

Or is their any comeback from doing it this way? Breach of contract, Bank charges etc?

As luck would have it my Sky+ box broke down on the last day of the footie season. I was offered a free repair when I decided to cancel, but they couldn't arrange a weekend appointment so I cancelled anyway.
I expect I'll probably want to get the footie back when the new season starts, but of course my box will still be broken. What would be the cheapest way of getting a new Sky+ box when and if I decide to sign up again?0 -
We don't have Setanta, but phoned Sky to cancel Movies and Sports. They asked why and we said that we wanted to cut down on spending they then said that we could have the movies and sports for nothing for 3 months and then cancel if we wanted or it would go back up to normal price. Seems fair enough to me!
I called Sky this evening as hubby agreed we could get rid of the sports now the footie has finished. I ended up keeping everything and saving £15 a month on my subscription !!! I can't complain really0 -
Just called up to cancel Sky Sports & Movies and was also offered £15 per month discount for the next 3 months. Happy days!!“A banker is the fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining and wants it back the minute it begins to rain.” Mark Twain0

The 0800 numbers seem to have disappeared - but there is a geographical number, which is great if you have free landline calls.
Its: 01506 421712
As for 30 days, as long as you have not changed your package within the last 30 days, you can lower your package. Or in my case, keep the whole thing with a £15 discount.
Good luck.0 -
I have been with them for 20 years I cancelled DD I REFUSE to pay o870 prices for hours talking to sky. They threatened me with the heavy mob for £30.00!!!!!!
The only offers I get are same for everyone . This is not fair as we were paying top rate for 20 years at least. I will only go back with a good offer. I know other people have great offers and they've only just joined say 2 years ago then cacelled.... Any ideas0
