I would pay extra to be with an uncomplicated company. Nice to know that they are competitive with no hidden rates

I've just checked MSE's main site, and it says Ebico will increase prices tomorrow, 2/10/2008,
    Gas by 31.8%,
    Electric by 24.3%,
is this correct I haven't received a letter yet?.
Like all domestic energy suppliers they have 65 working days from the date of effect to advise you of the change.

Your new prices are already available from the ebico website.

One director is a shrink, so if they are on the fiddle, job to hide it.

Just purchased their accounts as Premier suggested. Panic over, I'm by no means an accountant but it looks like their total director emoluments (I'm assuming that is pay?? :o ) was less than £46,000 last year, so no fat cats in this company!

Ebico GAS still top of the list for me, by £20 a year, could get electric with Click 6, £20 cheaper (says Energyhelpline). Reckon they got that wrong.
Most of the quarterly kwh's were at Tier 1 rate.
Is there a mathematician in the house ?

Don't look at me :o:p Also, is there an accountant in the house? It would appear to my untrained eye that Ebico made a profit of £222,000 in 2007 (on £521,000 turnover??) and £99,000 in 2006 and £34,000 in 2005, and reserves are currently £356,000

Can you host the file somewhere?

    The figures don't look correct. They had between 25000 & 40000 customers during 2007. If t/o was just £521k then that's an average of just £13 -£20 p.a. per customer. i.e £3 - £5 per quarter!

So much for ebico / southern customer service being the best !!

Just telephoned them to inform them of gas/elec readings prior to price rise so they can give an accurate bill when my quarter is up and secondly to inform them of switching electricity.

Well, both a customer service rep, and team leader both informed me that I could not freeze at the old price rates on the electricity due to switching and formally not accepting the price rises. After 20 minutes of arguing with them, I insisted on a real manager, who immediatley said it would be ok / fine !! They did at least give £20 compensation / good will, but had to insist on it for their incompetance / messing me about.

Kind of reminds me of npower !!
  • Don't SSE deal with all their CS calls? Could be wrong.
