  • You can top pizza with them - with or without pineapple.
Gammon fritters. If you have some matzo meal you can make the batter with that, so you can follow the old Jewish recipe.
What about a common or garden ham sandwich?

    I've been Money Tipped!
We are down to the last slice now but we used some in a spanish omelette type meal. Just fry some chopped onions, add chopped pieces of gammon, some leftover cooked potatoes chopped, some sliced mushrooms and some halved cherry tomatoes, pour over 4 beaten eggs and cook until set, if you feel the top needs to be finished off and your frying pan is oven proof you could pop it under the grill or do as I did and cut it into quarters and then turn each quarter over to cook.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Slice an onion and the gammon and fry a little. Add rice and fry. Add stock, stir and cover. Serve when the rice has absorbed all the water.

  • I do this with leeks, But bananas?  _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ with ham and Cheese sauce?_pale_ _pale_ _pale_
I know- who would believe it.
But it is sooooo delicious. Think American thanksgiving, think Brazilian restaurants ( well I went once ) think sweet with savoury, think- bananas wrapped in ham with cheese sauce!
I hardly ever make this as nice ham is so expensive, but this year I got a ham in Asda on 24th Dec for £3 instead of £25. Realised it was use by 24th December but decided to live dangerously and we finished it yesterday. I am pretty sure that I wasn't taking that much of a chance as it smelled lovely... So we had this dish and my kids were begging for more. Its true- try it with one banana...They do go mushy but they are yummy.

Why not, if you can slice or shred it? Otherwise quiche if there is sufficient or add to risotto or scrambled eggs.

Mince it and mix with mashed potato and parsley/chives and make into patties and shallow fry or grill them for tea. Just coat in flour and fry.
