At the end of the day you have no proof the food was off, you eat some of it
You arent entitled to your whole refund and at most a refund for some rices ( so 3-4 quid at most) but even then it is your word against theres and I doubt your sense of smell is proof
Call environmental health but there is nothing they can really do about it as you can bet everything is sparkling clean now regardless

We got a set meal for 2 people, it cost £17, all i ate is 1 mini spring roll, and 2 bits of prawn toast, the soup was awful, couldn't eat that, but thought it just wasn't to our taste. The rice was most definately off, paul tried some of the beef in black bean sauce, but said it was not nice and couldn't eat it (he eats anything!) and we didn't even try the sweat and sour chicken it didn't smell good though, not saying it was off but it didn't smell like sweat and sour chicken! SO.. out of all that we only really ate the starter, which was nice yes, but it was probably frozen anyway!!

You shouldn't have let them take the food away - even though it was off and you didn't want it, it was YOUR food which YOU had paid for, and taking it away without providing you with a refund or replacement is effectively theft on their part! You were under no obligation whatosever to part with it without some kind of recompense or remuneration their part. It was YOURS! They have absolutely no automatic right to it once they've sold it to you.
Now they've got your food AND your money, and you've got nothing to prove that the food they sold you was inedible. Argh!
Despite this, I'd probably go to the shop in person and lodge my complaint (loudly, preferably when there's a queue) and maybe they will be more than happy to sort it out...

Yes, kicking up a fuss infront of other customers might do the trick as my managers hate it when customers do that haha.

I hope they at least apologised to you, and I hope you don't go back there again and tell everyone you know not to go there either. A bad word of mouth for a resturant does more damage than anything else

personally i dont agree about bad mouthing in front of customers there are ways of complaining, its not easy running a business sometimes things will go wrong, and if no one was running takeaways you wouldnt be able to even go and get one.;)
You should be able to sort things out without resorting to losing it and shouting in front of people.:footie:0 -
